Narrator 1: One day down on the fame, duck got a wild idea.
Duck: I bet I could ride a bike!
Narrator 2: He waddled over to where the boy parked his bike, climbed on, and began to ride. At fist he rode very slowly, and he wobbled a lot, but it was fun!
Narrator 1: Duck rode past Cow and waved to her.
Duck: Hello Cow!
Cow: Moo!
Narrator 1: But what Cow really thought was,
Cow: A duck on a bike? That’s the silliest thing I’ve ever seen!
Narrator 2: Then Duck rode past Sheep.
Duck: Hello Sheep!
Sheep: Baa!
Narrator 2: but what she really thought was…
Sheep: He’s going to hurt himself if he’s not careful!
Narrator 1: Duck was riding better now. He rode past Dog.
Duck: Hello Dog!
Dog: Woof! Narrator 1: but what he thought was,
Dog: That is a mighty neat trick!
Narrator 2: Then Duck rode past Cat.
Duck: Hello Cat!
Cat: Meow!
Narrator 2: But what she thought was,
Cat: I wouldn’t waste my time riding a bike!
Narrator 1: Duck pedaled a little faster. He rode past Horse.
Duck: Hello, Horse!
Horse: Ne-e-e-igh!
Narrator 1: But what he thought was,
Horse: You’re still not as fast as me, Duck!
Narrator 2: Duck rang his bell as he rode toward Chicken.
Duck: Hello, Chicken!
Chicken: Cluck, Cluck!
Narrator 2: But what she thought was,
Chicken: Watch where you’re going, Duck!
Narrator 1: Then Duck rode past Goat.
Duck: Hello, Goat!
Goat: M-a-a-a!
Narrator 1: But what he thought was,
Goat: I’d like to eat that bike!
Narrator 2: Duck stood on the seat and rode past Pig and Pig. Duck: Hello, Pigs!
Pigs: Oink!
Narrator 2: But what they thought was,
Pigs: Duck is such a show-off!
Narrator 1: Then Duck rode no-hands past Mouse.
Duck: Hello, Mouse!
Mouse: Squeak,
Narrator 1: But what he thought was,
Mouse: I wish I could ride a bike just like Duck.
Narrator 2: Suddenly, a whole bunch of kids came down the road on bikes. They were in such a hurry that they didn’t see Duck. They parked their bikes by the house and went inside.
Narrator 1: Now all the animals had bikes! They rode around and around the barnyard.
All animals: This is fun! Good idea, Duck!
Narrator 2: Then they put the bikes back by the house. And no one knew that on that afternoon, there had been a cow, a sheep, a dog, a cat, a horse, a chicken, a goat, two pigs, a mouse, and a duck on a bike.
