<p> Duck on a Bike Written and Illustrated By: David Shannon Adapted By: Deborah MacWithey</p><p>Parts Needed: Narrator 1 Cat Narrator 2 Horse Duck Chicken Cow Goat Sheep 2 Pigs Dog Mouse</p><p>Narrator 1: One day down on the fame, duck got a wild idea.</p><p>Duck: I bet I could ride a bike!</p><p>Narrator 2: He waddled over to where the boy parked his bike, climbed on, and began to ride. At fist he rode very slowly, and he wobbled a lot, but it was fun!</p><p>Narrator 1: Duck rode past Cow and waved to her.</p><p>Duck: Hello Cow!</p><p>Cow: Moo!</p><p>Narrator 1: But what Cow really thought was,</p><p>Cow: A duck on a bike? That’s the silliest thing I’ve ever seen!</p><p>Narrator 2: Then Duck rode past Sheep.</p><p>Duck: Hello Sheep!</p><p>Sheep: Baa!</p><p>Narrator 2: but what she really thought was…</p><p>Sheep: He’s going to hurt himself if he’s not careful!</p><p>Narrator 1: Duck was riding better now. He rode past Dog.</p><p>Duck: Hello Dog!</p><p>Dog: Woof! Narrator 1: but what he thought was,</p><p>Dog: That is a mighty neat trick!</p><p>Narrator 2: Then Duck rode past Cat.</p><p>Duck: Hello Cat!</p><p>Cat: Meow!</p><p>Narrator 2: But what she thought was,</p><p>Cat: I wouldn’t waste my time riding a bike!</p><p>Narrator 1: Duck pedaled a little faster. He rode past Horse.</p><p>Duck: Hello, Horse!</p><p>Horse: Ne-e-e-igh!</p><p>Narrator 1: But what he thought was,</p><p>Horse: You’re still not as fast as me, Duck!</p><p>Narrator 2: Duck rang his bell as he rode toward Chicken.</p><p>Duck: Hello, Chicken!</p><p>Chicken: Cluck, Cluck!</p><p>Narrator 2: But what she thought was,</p><p>Chicken: Watch where you’re going, Duck!</p><p>Narrator 1: Then Duck rode past Goat.</p><p>Duck: Hello, Goat!</p><p>Goat: M-a-a-a!</p><p>Narrator 1: But what he thought was,</p><p>Goat: I’d like to eat that bike!</p><p>Narrator 2: Duck stood on the seat and rode past Pig and Pig. Duck: Hello, Pigs!</p><p>Pigs: Oink!</p><p>Narrator 2: But what they thought was,</p><p>Pigs: Duck is such a show-off!</p><p>Narrator 1: Then Duck rode no-hands past Mouse. </p><p>Duck: Hello, Mouse!</p><p>Mouse: Squeak,</p><p>Narrator 1: But what he thought was,</p><p>Mouse: I wish I could ride a bike just like Duck.</p><p>Narrator 2: Suddenly, a whole bunch of kids came down the road on bikes. They were in such a hurry that they didn’t see Duck. They parked their bikes by the house and went inside.</p><p>Narrator 1: Now all the animals had bikes! They rode around and around the barnyard.</p><p>All animals: This is fun! Good idea, Duck!</p><p>Narrator 2: Then they put the bikes back by the house. And no one knew that on that afternoon, there had been a cow, a sheep, a dog, a cat, a horse, a chicken, a goat, two pigs, a mouse, and a duck on a bike.</p>
