CENTRE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
Post Title: Centre Manager
Employed By: Treo Nua Ltd
Accountable To: Board of Management of Treo Nua Ltd
Responsible for: Administration, Receptionist & Caretaking staff
Hours: 39 hours per week
Salary Range: €28,560 - €30,560 per annum
Job Purpose:
The Centre Manager will be responsible for ensuring the development, management and smooth running of the Treo Nua, Portlaoise Resource Centre and report directly to the Board of Directors. Working closely with the three anchor tenants of the building (Family Resource Centre, the HSE and Laois County Council) he or she will work to ensure that the Treo Nua, Portlaoise Resource Centre is a vibrant, well managed facility for local residents and the wider community in Co. Laois. The Centre Manager will be self aware, energetic and be able to prioritise activities.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
To manage the Centre and be responsible for all staff working for Treo Nua Ltd.
Market the centre to raise profile and income.
Manage the Community Services Programme and complete returns as required by Pobal and other relevant Government agencies. Increase bookings through developing networking relationships between those using the centre.
Assist in providing local services and activities to be run from the centre.
Implement the centre business plan, aims and objectives.
Responsible for budgeting and financial management – including returns and reports to the Board of Management and the relevant statutory bodies.
Ensure effective maintenance of the building – including maintenance programmes, supervising contractors and others regarding work in the building.
Ensure the building is safe and secure at all times.
Manage storage space and equipment use within the building.
Develop close working relationships with all stakeholders, tenants and local community groups to ensure that there is a suitable healthy environment for everyone using the centre.
Maintain confidentiality on all matters relating to centre users and general centre business.
Participate in performance reviews.
Responsibility for health and safety in the building.
Duties as assigned by Treo Nua Ltd.
Personal Specification
Experience of the following would be desirable: Experience of Marketing, preferably marketing building facilities.
Experience of budgeting and financial management.
At least 12 months previous experience of managing services or buildings. Experience of working in partnership, ideally within a community buildings
environment.
Community, cultural and social awareness.
Experience in staff management.
Experience of Health and Safety, including risk assessment and maintenance
management.
Skills & Abilities: Possess cultural & community awareness and sensitivity.
Excellent verbal and listening communication skills.
Confident and able to work on own initiative.
Able to prioritise work and demands.
Able to work in conjunction with the Board of Directors and the wider
community to develop the centre.
Understanding of finance and financial management systems.
Able to work flexible hours – prioritising the needs of the centre.
Demonstrate sound work ethics.
Education & Training: Educated to a reasonable standard – a Third Level Business or Marketing
Qualification would be an advantage.
Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft packages.
Other: Able to work evenings and weekends as required.
Full clean drivers licence
Be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.
