CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS: (Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and leadership from completing this field experience? This field experience was very beneficial and gave me some great experience. It taught me that just because you place technology in your daily lessons doesn’t mean it’s being used effectively. The experience encompassed my Engaged Learning Project from rough to a final draft. I created an experience where the students became content experts and instructed their peers in the correct execution of high-level Olympic style lifting exercises. They also acted advocates of exercise for their families and local communities by gathering views and opinions. Then, using this data, They will develop a final instructional/motivational video showcasing their work. I learned that the possible audience for a project like this spans a lot further than just our classroom. My students can use technology and their minds to impact just about anyone.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and dispositions.)

I’ve learned that to properly facilitate and inspire student learning I need to broaden my base of technology. There are so many other resources out there that can help students and teachers in the classroom. Even though I can improve in that department I’ve learned that I already possess many skills needed to be a good technology coach. Through the development of this project I have successfully designed learning experiences and assessments and engaged in professional growth and leadership. I just can’t wait to see it come to life with my upcoming classes. Also, learning about indicators and LoTi levels has given me the skills needed to recognize high-level technology integration in a classroom. I also feel that I can be an advocate for technology in my school, by helping with classroom teachers or broad technology decisions to improve our technological footprint in Buford.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?

This field experience will impact school improvement at Buford High School, and our community, providing more in depth information on exercise and bringing attention to it. The impact will be able to be assessed after the completion of the first year project. We will discuss the impact that we made inside and outside of the school as well as suggest possible changes/improvements to the project in the future..
