The Andhra Pradesh Metropolitan Region and Urban Development Authorities Act, 2016 (Act No. 5 of 2016) 2. G.O.Ms. No.26 MA&UD (H) Department, dated 08.02.2016. 3. From the Director of Town and Country Planning, Andhra Pradesh, Lr.Rc.No.2920/16/P, Dated 12.11.2018. & & & O R D E R: The Andhra Pradesh Metropolitan Region and Urban Development Authorities Act, 2016 (Act No. 5 of 2016) has come into force w.e.f 08.02.2016 by virtue of notification issued in G.O. 2nd read above. 2. In the reference 3 rd read above, the Director of Town & Country Planning has requested the Government for constitution of Ongole Urban Development Authority (OUDA), with a jurisdiction of 39 Mandals covering 345 villages and nine (09) Urban Local Bodies i.e., Ongole Municipal Corporation, Chirala, Markapur, Kandukuru Municipalities and Addanki, Cheemakurthi, Kanigiri and Giddaluru Nagarapanchayaths with an extent of 4864.35 Sq.Kms and population of 18,24,408 as per 2011 census with Head Quarters at Ongole under Sec.3 & 4, Chapter-II of Andhra Pradesh Metropolitan Region and Urban Development Authorities Act, 2016. 3. Government after careful examination of the matter have decided to declare the area of 4864.35 Sq. Kms covering Ongole Municipal Corporation, Chirala, Markapur, Kandukuru Municipalities, Addanki, Cheemakurthi, Kanigiri and Giddaluru Nagarapanchayaths and 345 villages in 39 Mandals in Prakasham District (including 15 villages of 2 Mandals in Guntur District ) as given in notification –I and constitute Ongole Urban Development Authority (OUDA) with Head Quarter at Ongole as given in notification –II. 2 4. The Urban Development Authority shall function from the office in Ongole Town with the support of its staff. The expenditure towards establishment and other secretarial assistance shall be completely borne by Ongole Urban Development Authority (OUDA). Initially, the Urban Development Authority shall be function with the grants of Development fund and Revolving fund. Later, with their own revenue. 5. The modalities for Development of lands, Preparation of Master Plan and Zonal Development plans, Acquisition and disposal of lands, Inspection and penalties etc., shall be followed as per the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Metropolitan Region and Urban Development Authorities Act, 2016 (Act No.5 of 2016). 6. The appended notification will be published in an Extraordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette, dated:01.01.2019. 7. The Commissioner of Printing, Stationery and Stores Purchase, Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada is requested to supply 10 copies of the Extra-ordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette. 8. The Finance (FMU,I&I, EF&MA) Department, Secretariat, Velagapudi Sf/Sc. // FORWARDED :: BY :: ORDER // SECTION OFFICER APPENDIX NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Andhra Pradesh Metropolitan Region and Urban Development Authorities Act, 2016 (Act No.5 of 2016), the Government of Andhra Pradesh having regard to the need for the promotion of development activities relating to as a Urban Development Authority to achieve the objectives of the region witnesses tremendous growth in the domains of Industries, Imports and Exports etc. hereby specify a special Urban Development Area for the area comprised within the jurisdiction of Ongole Municipal Corporation, Chirala, Markapur, Kandukuru Municipalities, Addanki, Cheemakurthi, Kanigiri and Giddaluru Nagarapanchayaths with the jurisdiction covering 345 villages in 39 Mandals in Prakasham District (including 15 villages of 2 Mandals in Guntur District) with Head Quarters at Ongole with an extent of 4864.35 Sq.Kms and population of 18,24,408 and villages as specified in the Schedule appended to this notification to be a Urban Development Area for the purpose of the said Act and the said Area shall be as “Ongole Urban Development Area (OUDA)”.     EXECUTIVE SUMMARY A total of 54 small and micro textile units are located In and around Chlrala, Janderpet and Epuru Area of Chirala Mandal in Prakasam District. Nearly 800 people are working in these small scale dyeing units. Out of the 54 units, 11 numbers of units are yarn/Cloth dyeing units using machines and power. 31 units are Yarn dyeing units which are done manually. 12 units does cloth dyeing and printing manually. All the units are spread on both sides of Kunderu drain which is passing through this area. The 32-km long Kunderu drain on the Eastern side of Chirala town. The Chirala municipality and major panchayats like Ipurupalem, Jandrapeta, Kothapeta and Vetapalem let the sewage water into Kunderu. Kunderu drain finally confluence with sea nearly 5 KM from Chirala town area. Kunderu is handed over to Irrigation department drainage division and it is categorized as drain. Over the Years the dyeing and printing units are discharging untreated effluents into Kunderu drain which also carries the domestic wastewater from Chirala, Jandrapet and other panchayats on its banks. There are few Writ Petitions filed by local people in Hon'ble l,igh Court of Andhra Pradesh on pollution of kunderu vide WP No. 5596/ 201.3, WP No.37277/2014 & WP No. 39399/2014. Realising the extent of problem in the area, M/S SRI VENKATESWARA YARN & CLOTH DYERS ASSOCIATION purchased 3.38 Acres of private land in SY. No.71/2 & 73/1 of Challareddypalem village, Nayunipalli Panchayat, Vetapalem(M), Prakasham District to construct Common ETP facilities.

    Sphere India SITREP CYCLONE LAILA May 21, 2010 (1300 hrs) The cyclonic storm ‘LAILA’ remained practically stationary and lay centred at 0530 hrs IST of today, the 21 st May 2010 near Machilipatnam (Andhra Pradesh). The current environmental conditions and Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) models suggest that the system is likely to weaken gradually and move initially in a northerly direction and then recurve into a northeasterly direction towards Orissa. Under the influence of this system, widespread rainfall with scattered heavy to very heavy falls and isolated extremely heavy falls (25 cms or more) is likely over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during next 24 hours. Widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is likely over south coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period. In all, about 71,000 people were evacuated to relief camps, and 11 towns and 1492 villages affected by the cyclone in the form of snapping of electricity and inundation. Though Laila's intensity reduced considerably, the winds blowing at a speed of 90-95 kmph continue to leave behind a trail of destruction, though not of the level that was feared before it made the landfall. Gale force wind with speed reaching 75-85 kmph gusting to 95 kmph likely along and off Andhra Pradesh coast during next 12 hours. Sea condition will be high to very high along and off Andhra Pradesh coast during next 12 hours. CASUALTIES: Of the 16 human casualties that were caused by being washed away in the torrential waters, electrocution and wall collapse, four were from East Godavari, three from Nellore, two each from Guntur, Krishna, Prakasam and Visakhapatnam and one from West Godavari.

The month wise and branch wise discharge data and hydraulic particulars, particulars of main and branch canal was collected from Water Resources Department, Discharge, Lingamguntla circle and Ongole circle. The daily rainfall data from 1997 to 2018 (22 Groundwater , years) obtained from the Directorate of Economics and Statistics (DES) was used for Surface water calculating annual availability of rainfall distribution over the command area. The Article Info total availability of the surface water of 11 years was is 2,229 MCM. Average annual rainfall of Guntur and Prakasam Districts under command area was noticed as 780 mm and 749 and overall command area was recorded as 765 mm.
