Safe and Sober Grad of Novato

April 2016 Dear Seniors and Senior families – Congratulations to all of our seniors and their families! Your special milestone, graduation, is approaching quickly! We are excited about this year’s Safe Grad Night celebration that commemorates this very special time and gives our seniors a chance to enjoy one last night together! Safe Grad night is a party that includes food, entertainment, prizes, games, activities, and a whole lot of fun. There is a very strict no drugs or alcohol policy, please see the registration form for more details. Here’s how it works: Tickets are now on sale now for $60 through April 30th. They increase to $75 on May 1st, and then to $100 on May 27th. Get your tickets early and save $$!!! You can mail in your registration form and check, put them in the Safe Grad box in the NHS office, or have your student purchase a ticket at lunch through the ASB window during the last two Thursday/Fridays in April 21/22 & 28/29. If the price of the ticket is prohibitive for your family, please contact Gayle McCoy in the NHS office; scholarships are available for those who qualify. Schedule of events: 8:45-9:15pm - Seniors check in at the NHS Old Gym 9:15pm - Seniors load onto the bus 9:30pm – Bus departs for the secret location (don’t be late – it won’t wait!) 4:00am – Seniors arrive back at the NHS parking lot Things for seniors to bring:  Student ID  Something warm to wear - it might get chilly  A change of clothes - you might get wet  A blanket or throw – to get cozy We are able to keep ticket prices low by holding three major fundraisers each year to help offset the costs. The first one was held on March 13th …the annual Lucky Run; a fun 5K/10K Run/Walk. Over150 participants and many wonderful volunteers made this event a big success, even in the pouring rain. Our final fundraisers are the sale of leis for graduates (pre-sale only) and the sale of water at the graduation ceremony. You will continue to receive lots of important information about graduation through the e-news that you will not want to miss! We still need many volunteers to make this celebration a success! We gladly welcome and need parents of Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. Look for the link to the volunteer sign-ups in the NHS e-news soon. There are lots of volunteer opportunities to choose from. Grab a friend, spread the word, and come see what the fun is all about! Special tradition… If you want to make a picture collage poster (approx 15” x 22”) for your senior, we will collect them the week before graduation and hang them at the venue. The kids love them!
