CREATORS STORY About three years ago Paul had a wake-up call. He had developed significant pain in his shoulders and forearms. He visited his doctor and was told that he had to stop doing the things that were aggravating it. The doctor also explained that if he didn’t stop, in a few months he would be incapable of lifting a knife and fork!

Paul started researching causes and possible solutions. He began learning to touch type, bought books on physical therapy and also looked into the way he was working. It turns out that the average head weighs about 11 lb (5 Kg) and hunching down 8 hours a day looking at the laptop, supporting the head at an angle is very bad for the body. With this in mind he realized that if he didn’t prevent the hunching successful recovery was unlikely.

Using a desktop office setup was not a viable option, he needed a solution. This was the catalyst to design a new type of laptop stand, one so portable that he could comfortably take it with him wherever he went. From early stands built out of cardboard, the designs evolved into the final version of the bamboo ANTSTAND which is available on Kickstarter in August.
