Click on “Methods.” 4. Click on each different type of method to see a picture of it, and read about how it is used. 5. Summarize each method below:

Thought Questions: (Answer using complete sentences) a. Describe how the density of water and oil affects the cleanup methods on land?

b. Brainstorm ideas about how oil spills would have to be cleaned up if water and oil had the same density.

Part II: (the homework part) 6. Go to the “Results” section. 7. Click on “Current Status.” 8. Look at chart that lists animals whose populations have recovered and not recovered from the oil spill. 9. Pick one animal who has NOT recovered from the spill. 10. Skim through the information and find the most interesting 3-5 paragraphs. Copy and paste them to a word document, and PRINT THEM OUT.

11. Use a thinking map to take down the most important information about what has happened to the population of your animal.

12. Write a newspaper article describing what happened to the animal you chose. Be sure to use your best spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
