The Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival, Inc. (PSF) has created the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival Farming Scholarship for a graduate of a local area school. It is a 4 year scholarship that will pay $750 for each fall and spring semesters totaling $6,000. It will be available the fall semester following graduation. Selection will be made without regard to sex, race, color, creed, or national origin. An alternate recipient will also be chosen.

The selection committee composed of the following will choose the recipient: High School Principal, Assistant Principal, Guidance Counselor, and PSF Scholarship Committee

The selection committee will select the recipient based upon the following minimum criteria:

. Agricultural Student with 2 years of Ag class (Ag II) . Attend a Louisiana university . Major in Agricultural-related field . Minimum ACT score of 20 . Minimum GPA in Agriculture 3.0 . Minimum overall GPA 2.5 . Participation in FFA . Participation in school activities . Character/Personality . Financial Need . Participation in Community

A member of the PSF Board will present this scholarship to the recipient chosen by the selection committee at the Senior Awards Day at the recipient’s high school. This scholarship shall be used for attendance at any Louisiana university with the money credited to the student’s account at the university’s Bursar’s office at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters for four years, providing a 2.5 GPA is maintained and the student is enrolled on a full-time basis towards an Agricultural Science degree. Recipients must show proof of 2.5 GPA and proof of full-time enrollment at the end of each fall and spring semester. If the recipient fails to show proof, the balance of the scholarship is forfeited. An alternate will be chosen to replace the original recipient in the event the student fails to meet the requirements.

The student will be responsible for contacting the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival and providing the proof of enrollment and GPA each semester. If the student choses to attend a school without an Agricultural Department for the first two years of education to concentrate on core curriculum, the student will still be eligible for scholarship money once the student transfers and begins majoring in the Agricultural field. The student will forfeit any money for each semester the student does not major in Agriculture.

The award of the scholarship will be subject to annual review by the selection committee. The committee may withdraw or change the scholarship during the review. This annual review will be made at least two weeks prior to Senior Awards Day. PONCHATOULA STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL $6,000 AGRICULTURE SCHOLARSHIP
