. Write an original skit that uses the Spanish vocabulary and grammar that we have studied this year, and then perform Skit it for the class. The skit must: . Include grammar and vocab. studied this year . Be 4 -8 minutes in length . Be mostly memorized (can use a script, but cannot read all lines) . Use correct pronunciation and be all in Spanish.

. Read a book in Spanish! Check your local library! . It can be a children’s book if it has lots of writing and not Book just pictures with a few sentences. . Then, write a 3-5 paragraph report on what you read (en español) . Include a summary of the book, and your thoughts/reactions/opinions (all in Spanish). . You must also show a copy of the book that you read to Mr. Flynn.

. Write a 2-3 page research paper on a famous Hispanic person (In English) . Essay: In English Typed, double-spaced, 12 pt., Times New Roman font . Cite your sources! At least 5formal sources required. . Suggestions: Che Guevara, Fidel Castro, Francisco Franco, Hugo Chavez, Augusto Pinochet, Antoni Gaudi, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera . Write a 4 paragraph essay describing the childhood of somebody else (a family member, a friend, a famous person, etc.). Essay: In Spanish . Use the imperfect and preterite tenses correctly to describe what they were like, what they did, where they travelled, etc. . Must be 4 paragraphs, with a minimum of 5 sentences per paragraph. . Must use a variety of verbs and vocabulary. Extra Credit Flynn . Must be accurate about the person (do some research). . Typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 pt. font.

. You can earn UP TO 20 extra credit points for this project (See grading rubric below).

. Create a movie that TEACHES a set of vocabulary words (For example: teach vocabulary related to cars, technology, farming, travel, music, etc.).

. movie is a great program to use. However, be sure to speak loudly and clearly if filming everything on an iPad or iPhone!

. When writing your script you may use a dictionary to find words, but the dialogue should be written by YOU, and NOT AN ONLINE TRANSLATOR! If you use a translator you will receive 0 points for the project. Try to use the verb tenses and structures that you have learned in class this year. Be creative but don’t try to write a dialogue that is too complicated or beyond your abilities. The point to is to show what you have learned and to teach some new vocabulary to the class, in a fun way.

. The movie must be at least 3 minutes, but no longer than 6 minutes in length.

. There should be LOTS of dialogue, not just a long video with a few sentences mixed in.

. Turn in a typed script to Mr. Flynn BEFORE you present the video to the class.

. Save the move to YouTube, if possible. Otherwise, burn the movie on to a DVD.

. All material in the movie should be school appropriate (no violence, alcohol, foul language, controversial topics, etc.). Inclusion of such material will result in no points and a referral to the Dean of Students.
