Make a Mobile
Your mobile will be due DURING your regular class time on: Wednesday, November 26. If you know you’re going to gone that day it must be turned in ahead of time. This project will be in place of having a test at the end of Wringer.
Your mobile and the title, should revolve around the theme that you have felt the strongest connection to in Wringer. Themes for your mobile might include: Values, Bravery, Being Yourself, Standing up for what you believe in. Remember that the ideas above are only suggestions, be creative!
You must have at least 5 items on your mobile. For each item you put on your mobile you must have at least 1 paragraph TYPED explaining the item’s importance to the theme you chose. An item cannot be something that is living. However, if you think of a representation/symbol of the living person or animal please feel free to use it.
Supplies you will need to make your mobile: 1. A list of concepts and images that represent the theme you have chosen to do your project on 2. 2 wire hangers OR a paper plate and an unsharpened pencil 3. Paper or poster board 4. Scissors 5. Coloring utensils 6. Ribbon or string Assembling Your Mobile
-Using your list of items and your paper/poster board draw, trace, or print out each item from your list to represent the theme you have chosen.
-All items MUST be colored and double sided. Keep in mind that mobiles spin and move, so be sure to have the picture colored on both sides of the paper.
-Cut out your items. As you cut them out be aware of the shape. The shape will be the first aspect your audience will notice about your mobile.
-Make sure that the theme of your mobile is displayed.
-Your name should also be visible, I would recommend putting it on the same paper used to display the theme.
If you choose to use 2 hangers: - Attach the hangers together - Hang ribbon, string, or yarn from the hanger - Attach your items to the ribbon by punching a hole in the item
If you choose to use a paper plate & an unsharpened pencil: - Cut the length of the ribbon, string, or yarn and attach it to the middle of the pencil - Make a small hole in the paper plate and thread the free end of the ribbon through the hole and knot the end - Attach the other pieces of ribbon to the paper plate the same way - Attach your items to the ribbon by punching a hold in the item
Again, these ways to assemble your mobile are only suggestions. By all means, please feel free to be creative! Name Class
