Liturgist, Ushers & Nursery Volunteers needed! Please sign-up in Fellowship Hall… Thanks!

Special Music for Summer: If you or one of your summer guests would like to provide special music (instrumental, vocal, solo, duet, etc.) please contact the church office to set up a date and what you would like to do. You may sing/play for either one or both services.

If you would like to be “Choir Director” for the day, there is a sign-up sheet in Fellowship Hall along with a list of suggested hymns. Please let the organist/office know one week in advance of your selection. You can use the same hymn for the 9 & 11 a.m. service… you can direct one or both services!

The Monday Women’s Bible Study will be taking a few weeks off. Watch the bulletin for start dates and a new study.

Vesper Cruises last 2 weeks!!! The boat leaves from the Arnold Line Dock at 8:00 p.m. sharp! There is one boat each Sunday, with the exception of Labor Day Sunday (Sept. 2) with boats at 6 and 8. Come and enjoy God’s beautiful sunset while cruising the Straits! Questions, call Kristi Laninga at 597-0353.

Confirmation Class – Pastor Dave will be having Confirmation Class for all those entering 7th grade and above this school year. Classes will begin on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m.! The actual start date has yet to be determined but will be early October and will last through till May of next year. Contact Pastor Dave if you’re interested.

New Member Class – all those interested in becoming a member of The Church of the Straits are encouraged to participate in a new member class beginning September 23rd at 9:30 am. We will meet for three weeks during the Sunday school hour. You can join the class whether you become a member or not. If you are just interested in the unique nature of this congregation you are welcome to join us. Also, those who want to retain membership at another church have the option of also becoming associate members at this church. Question, call the church office or Pastor Dave! Next Sunday, Labor Day Sunday, the 2nd service will be at the band-shell in Conkling Park, with special musical guests, Living Truth 2, a husband and wife music ministry team from Caro, MI. In case of rain, the 2nd service will be here at the church.

Three Lakes Academy Fall Classes will begin September 13th. A schedule of classes, times and information can be found on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall. For more information, call 906-643-7870 or see the lay academy link at www.presbymac.org.
