Макар и след броени дни да навършва 40 години, той продължава да е сред водещите имена в световната рап и хип-хоп музика, като съвсем наскоро бе номиниран в две категории на последното издание на наградите Grammy за песента "Look At Me". На 17-годишна възраст сформира групата, Leaders of the New School (LONS), която прави първите си записи в студиото не на кого да е, а на ветераните Public Enemy.     Terror Since the Public School Error: Reconciling Hip Hop and Education Randy Ojeda & Eduardo Roman Loyola University Chicago School of Law Education Law and Policy, 2013 Terror Since the Public School Error: Reconciling Hip Hop and Education 2 Introduction Hip Hop and Education have been presented as oppositional spheres of influence in youth culture. Since its inception, Hip Hop has promoted values that conflict with the aim of the Public Education System. This division was created by the educational budget cuts which led to the rise of Hip Hop instrumentation and ethic. These budgetary cuts, along with the Hip Hop movement it birthed, enforced a culture of destabilization and anti-education in inner-city schools. However, these two spheres of influence can in fact overlap successfully to the benefit of educating urban youth. A possible solution to ending this ceiling of stagnation is using hip hop culture as a tool for education. While Hip Hop has created an urban youth culture of destabilization and anti-education, an embracing of hip hop by the educational system could lead to the development of social consciousness and critical skills both in and out of the classroom. READ ARTICLE THE NEWEST SOUND OF NEW YORK STEPS INTO THE LITE By MTV Iggy May 1, 2014 Words by Mike Steyels If you live in New York and take the train like most people, then you’ve probably heard litefeet music before. When those dancers spill into your car, demanding everyone’s attention, and start with a show of footwork and pole tricks, they are usually litefeeters. And the beat that blasts from their portable amps is also called litefeet, as it’s named after the dance it was created for. It’s a high energy, fast paced rap beat using an old school hip­hop drum kit, full of chopped and pitched up vocal samples. It’s the newest sound of New York, and most of the producers are still in high school. The music and the dance are inseparable. The beats are made specifically with litefeeters in mind, and it’s played almost exclusively by those in the scene. So the story of the sound can’t be told without explaining the moves, which are also called “gettin’ lite” or “gettin’ dark.” The name comes from dancers being light on their feet, often seeming weightless.
