Circle Associates Fund

The Circle Associates Fund is a revolving loan fund of $3,000 that was established years ago by founding members of the Unitarian Coastal Fellowship. It was started to help members of the congregation who face financial emergencies such as job loss, emergency medical bills, or emergency family situations. Persons needing such assistance who have been UCF members for a minimum of six months may apply to the minister or the treasurer. Their identities are known only to the minister and the treasurer. Recipients of Circle Associate loans are expected to sign a promissory note without interest, which is destroyed when the loan has been repaid. The Circle Associates Fund is held in the Multipurpose (Reserve) Funds of the Fellowship and is accessible only to the treasurer. To inquire about a loan, call Rev. UCF Gift Fund

The Gift Program is established to provide financial assistance in situations where repayment of a loan is not feasible. The Gift Program is available to UCF members who have been members for at least 6 months. Funding for this program is established during the annual budget process. The budget request will come from the UCF Pastoral Care Team. If a member needs financial help from the Gift Program, he/she contacts someone on the Pastoral Care Team. With no questions asked, that Pastoral Care Team member gives what the person requests up to a fixed amount established by the Pastoral Care Team. The money and a current list of members are kept under lock and key at UCF. Each Pastoral Care Team member has access to the money at all times. The minister is made aware of any disbursement. The identity of an individual will be known only to the Pastoral Care Team. A record is kept stating who made the disbursement, the date, the dollar amount, and the signature of the person receiving the disbursement.
