1. Area of application  Contact with skin impairs the skin’s protective function; long-term exposure will lead to diseases of the skin.  Cooling lubricant mist and vapours can cause irritation of mucous membranes.  Bacteria and fungi can lead to infections (e.g. through wounds or previously damaged skin) and allergy symptoms.  Emulsion can pollute soil and water 2. Hazards to humans and the environment  Avoid contact with skin or eyes  Follow skin protection guidelines  Avoid wetting of work clothing; use splash guards/rubber aprons. Change out of wet work clothing  Wash hands before breaks and at close of work shift; use clean cloth or paper tow- els to dry hands after washing. No compressed air!  Do not eat, smoke or store foods in the workplace  Do not allow any foreign materials to enter the KSS circuit  Do not blow compressed air onto workpieces or machine.

3. Safety measures and codes of conduct  Use a binding agent specify binding agent here to absorb emulsions that have spilled or leaked, wear protective gloves specify type here  In the event of faults or noticeable KSS changes (e.g. appearance, odour), inform supervisors. 4. First aid and health protection  In the event of skin complaints (e.g. raw skin, itching, redness) inform supervisors, see company physician  If contact with eyes occurs, rinse with running water and consult an eye specialist  Have skin injuries attended, even if minor.
