Title: Director of Mission Effectiveness FLSA: Exempt

GENERAL SUMMARY The Director of Mission Effectiveness assists the President of SHS and the Board of Trustees in maintaining and integrating the philosophy, mission and values of the Ursuline Sisters in all aspects of the organizational life of SHS.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Abides by the policies and guidelines contained in the SHS Human Resource Policy Manual.  Participates in activities that help build a faith community on the campus.  Provides the inspiration for and facilitates the successful implementation of the mission.  Demonstrates through evaluation the effectiveness of mission throughout the organization.  Conducts orientation and education of trustees, school personnel, students, parents and alumni concerning mission, values and heritage.  Provides continued support to school personnel through retreat-like sessions and personal contact.  Encourages administrators to model the values of SHS.  Challenges that decisions be made in the light of mission.  Develops in-service programs that embody the values of SHS.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED  Knowledge of the mission, values and heritage of the Ursuline Sisters.  Masters degree preferred with background in theology, religious studies, ministry, liturgy, education or a related field.  Five to seven years experience in any one or more of the following: education, pastoral ministry, governance, formation.  Professed member of the Ursuline Sisters, a covenanted associate member of the congregation, or co-worker, if possible.  Ability to share faith and to articulate faith experience.  Ability to articulate the mission, charism, and history of the Ursuline Sisters.  Current knowledge and understanding of theology, liturgy, education, moral and justice issues.  Skills necessary for preparing and implementing mission development programs.  Ability to teach, listen, lead, support, and build community.  Ability to work comfortably in a consultative capacity.  Ability to communicate in both written and oral forms with a cross section of groups.  A team player, formation director, communicator and a prophet with creativity, flexibility, integrity and openness.  Ability to work independently and/or in teams.

WORKING CONDITIONS  General office setting.  Normal business hours, however, may entail some evening and weekends.  Full time employment.  Attendance at all Board and Board Committee meetings.

ACCOUNTABILITY  The Director of Mission Effectiveness reports directly to President of SHS.
