1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.5.1 Single Source Requirements: To the greatest extent practical provide products specified in this section from a single manufacturer or supplier.

1.5.2 Manufacturer: Minimum 5 years experience producing similar products.

1.5.3 Installer Qualifications: Acceptable to manufacturer.

1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING 08 71 13-2 1.6.1 Deliver, store and handle materials and products in strict compliance with manufacturer's instructions and recommendations and industry standards.

1.6.2 Store materials in manufacturer's original sealed, labeled packaging until ready for installation and in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Protect from damage.

1.7 PROJECT CONDITIONS

1.7.1 Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

1.8 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING

1.8.1 Conference: Convene a pre-installation conference to establish procedures to maintain optimum working conditions and to coordinate this work with related and adjacent work.

2.5 AUTOMATIC SLIDE DOOR OPERATORS (DS-18C)

2.5.1 Automatic Slide Door Operators: Model DS-18C as manufactured by DITEC Entrematic North America. 2.5.1.1 Components: Provide door operating equipment, guide threshold, actuating and safety controls, accessories and fasteners as required for complete installation and as scheduled and indicated on Drawings. 2.5.1.2 System Design: Components in the header factory engineered, assembled, adjusted and tested. 2.5.1.2.1 Field wiring consists of connection to job-site power and actuators. 2.5.1.2.2 The bi-part sliding door system shall include a two-point MS deadlock securing the lead edges of the door stiles together and to the active door carrier assembly or for single slide a one point MS deadlock securing the latch stile to the vertical lock jamb. 2.5.1.2.3 Each door panel shall include interlocking that securely latches the swing out panels to the sliding panels in the fully closed position. 2.5.1.2.4 The active sliding door shall be provided with a key cylinder on the exterior and a thumbturn on the interior. 2.5.1.3 Operating Temperature Range: System components shall operate between -70 degrees F and 130 degrees F (-56 degrees C and 54 degrees C). 2.5.1.4 Aluminum Extrusion Finish: As scheduled and indicated on Drawings. 2.5.1.5 Aluminum Extrusion Finish: Standard, clear anodized. 2.5.1.6 Aluminum Extrusion Finish: Standard, bronze anodized. 2.5.1.7 Aluminum Extrusion Finish: Standard, light bronze anodized. 2.5.1.8 Aluminum Extrusion Finish: Special anodized, color ______. 2.5.1.9 08 71 13-8 Aluminum Extrusion Finish: Painted, color ______. 2.5.1.10 Aluminum Extrusion Finish: Clad, ______. 2.5.1.11 Door Panels and Sidelights: Sized to prevent pinch points at meeting stiles. 2.5.1.11.1 Compliance: Allow "breakout" to full open position to provide instant egress at any point in door's movement. 2.5.1.11.2 Sliding Aluminum Doors: Narrow stile through bolted units, to dimensions and with glazing as scheduled and indicated on Drawings and order confirmation; options are field adjustable by snap-off beveled edge. 2.5.1.16 Drive Systems: Digital Slide System. 2.5.1.16.1 Components: Electromechanical 1/5 hp, 100V, brushless DC motor and enclosed hypoid gear system with maximum opening speed of 750 mm/sec. 2.5.1.16.2 Power Requirements: Provide 120 VAC, 5 amps single-phase power supply minimum to operator transformer junction box within header. 2.5.1.17 Control Units: DS-18C Ferrite Chip Control Unit. 2.5.1.17.1 Torque shall be factory set as prescribed by ANSI A156.10. 2.5.1.17.2 In the event of power failure active doors maybe opened manually. 2.5.1.17.3 Microprocessor Controls: Monitors doorway holding beams, door position, electric lock position, activators, motor temperature, and condition of power. 2.5.1.17.4 Self-Diagnostics: Checks performed on continuous basis, faults displayed by flashing LED's and buzzer noise on control panels. 2.5.1.18 Doorway Holding Beams: 2.5.1.18.1 Factory installed at 24 inches (610 mm) and 48 inches (1219 mm) from finished floor. 2.5.1.18.2 When the beam is interrupted, an open door shall be inhibited from closing. 2.5.1.19 Switches: As scheduled and indicated on Drawings 2.5.1.20 Switches: 10 position switch. 2.5.2 Operation: 2.5.2.1 Motion Detection: Actuated by motion detector mounted on each side of door detection of traffic in each direction. 2.5.2.2 Reverse Function: 2.5.2.2.1 Upon obstruction with Safety Search Circuitry. 2.5.2.2.2 Doors shall recycle open if an object is encountered during closing cycle. 2.5.2.2.3 Circuitry shall time-out for 5 seconds then search for that object at 50 percent speed on next closing cycle. 2.5.2.2.4 If an obstruction is encountered again, doors will recycle open. 2.5.2.2.5 Doors shall keep timing-out and recycling at 50 percent speed until obstruction is cleared. 2.5.2.2.6 If an object is encountered while opening, the doors will stop, reverse direction one inch, time-out for 5 seconds and close at 50 percent speed. 2.5.2.2.7 The next opening the circuitry shall search for that object at 50 percent speed. 2.5.2.2.8 If an obstruction is encountered again the doors shall stop reverse direction one inch, time out and close. 2.5.2.2.9 The doors shall continue recycling at 50 percent until the object is cleared. 2.5.2.3 Door Motion Adjustments: Control digital interface provides means to make the following door adjustments; open high speed, open low speed, open braking force, close high speed, close low speed, close braking force, opening time. 2.5.2.4 Nylon Sweeps: 2.5.2.4.1 On bottom of sliding doors. 2.5.2.4.2 Double pile weatherstripping for sliding door lead edges. 2.5.2.4.3 Single pile weatherstripping between carrier and header on lead stiles of sidelights and pivot stiles of sliding doors.

2.6 ACCESS CONTROL SLIDE DOOR OPERATORS (DS-18C)

3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION AND PREPARATION 08 71 13-19 3.1.1 Prepare substrates using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving best result for the substrates under project conditions.

3.1.2 Field verify as-built conditions and verify the manufacturer's details for accuracy to fit the wall assembly prior to fabrication.

3.1.3 Do not proceed with installation until substrates have been prepared using the methods recommended by the manufacturer and deviations from manufacturer's recommended tolerances are corrected. Commencement of installation constitutes acceptance of conditions.

3.1.4 If preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of deviations from manufacturer's recommended installation tolerances and conditions.

3.2 INSTALLATION

3.2.1 Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Set units in proper relationship with adjacent work.
