Carbonite is an online backup service. It will backup any data on a PC whenever the PC is connected to the Internet.

1. Access the Carbonite website from the PC that you want to backup, www.carbonite.com, then click on the 'My Account' tab. 2. Login using the e-mail address [email protected] and the password js1953. 3. Click on the 'Subscription Information' tab. 4. Enter an unused activation code and click on 'Install'. 5. If the activation code that you entered is valid you will see a list of computers that already have Carbonite installed, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on 'Install on this Computer'. 6. Click on the purple 'Click Here' button and Run the installation program. 8. After the installation finishes, you will see a yellow lock in the taskbar meaning that Carbonite has begun the backup process. After all the data has been backed up, the icon will turn green.

Restoring files.

1. For a complete restoration of the files (a computer that crashed and/or lost all its data); login to www.carbonite.com, then click on the ‘My Protected Computers’ tab. 2. Scroll down and click on the ‘Restore’ button. 3. Click on the ‘Next’ button and then choose the PC you want restored from the list. This will basically take you through the installation process. The difference here is that after Carbonite is installed, it will automatically start in Restore mode. Transferring Subscriptions.

1. If Carbonite is still installed on the PC that you are transferring from you will need to uninstall it. Login to www.carbonite.com from the computer you want to transfer the Carbonite subscription to. Click on the ‘My Protected Computers’ tab. 2. Scroll down and then click on the ‘Transfer’ button. 3. Choose the correct computer from the list and click on the ‘Continue’ button.

4. Carbonite will then take you through the installation process and will ask you whether you want to restore files or if you just want to transfer your subscription. Renewing Subscriptions.

1. Login to www.carbonite.com, then click on the ‘My Protected Computers’ tab. 2. Find the computer for which you want to renew the license and click on the ‘Renew’ button. 3. Choose between the 1 year and the 2 year subscription. 4. The method of payment is by credit card only. Enter the card and company information and click on the ‘continue’.
