Office of New Student Programs M-Planner Cover Design Competition

Introduction/Overiew The Office of New Student Programs (ONSP) is seeking student designs for the 2018-2019 M-Planner cover. Finalists will be selected by the ONSP staff and displayed for public judging late in the Fall 2017 semester. The selected designer will be recognized in the M-Planner and receive a $300 honorarium. Top five designs receive free 2018-2019 M-Planners!

Specifications  Cover designs must be 7" × 9"  Designs may use full color.  Use an electronic template to design your cover, available from http://www.onsp.umich.edu/about/m-planner  The cover must somewhere contain the text "2018-2019 M-Planner: Insider's Guide to the University of Michigan" and "Office of New Student Programs".  If your design uses any photographs of people, you must provide a signed “permission to use statement” for each person pictured. These are not required for photographs provided through one of the University’s photographic resources.  If you would like to use the trademark "Block M" in your design, you can download those at vpcomm.umich.edu/brand/downloads.

Eligibility  Only undergraduate students enrolled at the University of Michigan during the Fall 2017 semester are eligible to be selected as the cover designer.  Attached information form must be completed and submitted.  All materials must be received by 10pm on Thursday, November 16, 2017.

Selection Process All entries should include:  A completed information form  An editable pdf of your design (an Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign file of the winning design may be requested at a later date)  Signed Permission to Use statement(s) for any people photographed

Submitted designs missing any of the above information will not be considered by the Office of New Student Programs.

I hereby release the attached design and electronic source file to the University of Michigan Office of New Student Programs for consideration as the cover art for the 2018-2019 M-Planner: Insider’s Guide to the University of Michigan. If selected as the best design, I give the Office of New Student Programs permission to publish my design, and the copyright to my design to be held by The Regents of the University of Michigan. I certify that this design is my original work, and have included permissions for any graphics, logos, or photos used and that the information in all parts of this submission is complete and accurate. I understand that this design may be displayed for public review, with the top five designs receiving complimentary 2017-2018 M-Planners and the selected cover designer also receiving a $300 honorarium.
