Good morning everyone and welcome to Bledsoe County High School.

At this time please stand for the pledge and please remain standing for a moment of silence.

Pledge: I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.

Mission Statement: Our mission is to provide a safe, welcoming environment, which will motivate students to become life-long learners and contributing members of the community.

Announcements:  Today is spring picture day. Listen for further announcements regarding pictures this morning.  There will be a day baseball game today. Listen for further announcements regarding the collection of money and dismissal time to the game.  The BCHS team won 2nd overall. We lost by only 14 points. Junior Chris Frady was top male archer for high school division. He won trophy and chrome bow. There were 956 kids that shoters.  Congratulations to our State FBLA winners. Mary Collier, Deidre Roberson, Chris Sapp, Jacob Sweatt, Rebecca Wolfe, and Maddie Nale were all winners. Also, congratulations to Mary Collier for her winning in the Agribusiness category and Deidre Roberson for her winning in the Personal Finance category.  Prom ticket sales have been extended through today Wednesday, April 6th.  What to win a IPad? See any Junior class officer or Mrs. Cagle and ask how you can win your very own IPad. Give away next Friday, April 15th. Juniors if you have monies turn in your money on or before the 14th.  The Pikeville-Bledsoe County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship applications are now available in the Guidance Office. Deadline for this scholarship is April 15th.  The Bledsoe County Farm Bureau scholarship is now available in the guidance office. The deadline is April 15th.  The Ricky Brown Scholarship applications are now available. Any senior who has played sports all 4 years of high school are eligible to apply. The deadline is April 15th.

 The Ross House Music Festival is this Saturday, April 9th behind the courthouse. Come hear great music and contribute to a great cause.  All Juniors who are planning on taking Chattanooga State Comp I and Comp II next year needs to see Ms. Johnson to get your name on the list.  On Saturday, May 21st the first annual Pikeville Idol music competition will be held during Log Cabin Days on the Winky Cagle Stage. The competition is open to individuals or groups. First prize winner(s) will receive a free (4) hour recording session at Star Recording Studio in Crossville, Tn. See Dr. Harwood for more information.  All seniors who have asthma needs to see Ms. Johnson in regards to a scholarship opportunity. This is a $5,000 scholarship for seniors who successfully manage their asthma.  Any senior who plans to attend classes at the TN Technology Center in Crossville needs to see Ms. Johnson in regards to their scholarship application. The deadline is April 11th.  All senior FFA Members. The FFA alumni scholarship is now available in the guidance office. The deadline is May 1.  The Bledsoe County Fair Scholarship is available in the guidance office. The deadline is also May 1st.  Office detention is held each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you have a detention assignment, make plans to attend as assigned.  The use and/or possession of any tobacco product on campus or at any school event regardless of location is strictly prohibited.  The possession of any type of knife, firearm, ammunition, explosive device, etc… is strictly prohibited on campus or at any school event.
