E-Portfolio

The main audience of my e-portfolio is a future employer. The primary focus I took when creating my online portfolio was to create an extension of my resume to allow prospective employers to see a more complete version of myself. A lot of times our resumes portray the professional aspects of us. However, the employer never gets the chance to really know is from a small list of work experiences and extracurricular activities. On my site, I took the time to expand upon these different sections of my resume. I gave a more in-depth view of my activities outside of school while including academic pieces to show the quality of my work. I included slideshows of my various travel experiences to express my global view on life. I have actually already sent the URL out to a prospective employer in hopes that they will see my dedication to global humanities. All of these little bits of my life come together in this e- portfolio to create a broader picture of who am I that what my resume tells.

The secondary audience is my family. I am very fortunate to have a family that is very invested in my academic career. I actually sent it out to my family and they sent feedback my way and helped me with some spelling errors. It is so wonderful for them to be so supportive of me and I hope to make them proud with the quality of my work. Further, I hope they feel connected to me by having access to some of the work and details about my travel and activities outside of school.

As far as adaptation goes, I let the material speak for itself. I presented my work and experiences in a clean and collected way. Each page is easy to access and easy to navigate. The purpose is to create a clean yet informative site.
