Overall Agenda with Time: Sponge/Activating Activity: Allotted Time 10 min  Opening Activity 20 min Students will demonstrate what waves are.  Mini- Lecture 10 min  Learning Stations 30 Min Reflections 15 Crafting: Allotted Time 30 min

Teacher will explain what waves are.

Composing: Allotted Time 30 min The Student will take Cornell Notes on Wave Types, Characteristics, and Interactions. Student Stations: The student will complete their Online Virtual lab on PHET LABS: Doppler Effect. The Student will complete their PowerPoint/ Project Online Georgia Virtual: Video on The Tacoma Bridge. The Students will Complete a Lab: Making Waves- Students will explore what happens when waves encounter an obstacle pg. 503 Textbook: Holt Physical Science. The Students will Complete a Lab: Particle Motion in a Wave - Students will analyze how energy passes along a spring pg. 509 Textbook: Holt Physical Science.

The Students will complete their Vocabulary Word Wall p.533 PowerPoint (Technology Component). The Students will complete their Concept Maps with summary/ paragraph on Wave Characteristics. Math Skills: The Students will practice calculating and solving (Physical Science - Math practice problems utilizing the Formula for Wave Speed, Frequency of a Wave and Wave Length pgs. 4-7 Chapter Resource Workbook). Wave Formulas on p. 516, 518 Textbook: Holt Physical Science. Foldable: The Student will Give examples of different types of waves (transverse, longitudinal, mechanical, electromagnetic) and identify the mediums in which they travel. Reflecting/Summarizing Activity: Allotted Time 15 min Exit slip Give three examples of a mechanical wave and give the medium through which they travel. Check understanding
