Q1) Is the County looking to purchase laptops that include wireless modems? If the County does desire to purchase laptops with wireless modems, which service provider is preferred by the County? A) Yes, the County intends to purchase laptop computers with wireless modems. The County’s service provider is Verizon.

Q2) Can a Bidder submit quotes for mobility data connect plans as part of a bid response? A) No, as the County is not seeking to procure mobility data connect plans as part of this bid.

Q3) How many laptops is the County looking to acquire initially? A) Initially, the County is acquiring approximately 15 laptops.

Q4) How will the County fund the purchase of patrol vehicle laptops? A) Funding for this contract is included within the GSA - Motor Vehicle Division’s fiscal-year budget.

RFQ No. 901424, Addendum No 1 Page 3 Q5) Will the County allow Bidders to provide alternative laptop brands, such as Dell as an equivalent? A) The County will allow Bidders to submit an equivalent product that meets or exceeds the specification requested. However, The County does not accept Dell as an alternative or substitute for this bid. Dell laptops are not compatible with the Gamber Johnson 7160-0318-04 laptop mount. Please note that Bidders have the option to place a bid on both the model specified on this RFQ, and also for a substitute; both must be under the same proposal. The County reserves the right to be the sole judge of what is equal and acceptable.

Q6) What type of references are the County looking for from bidders? A) The County is seeking current and former references from businesses and/or individuals with whom the Bidder has engaged in the sales and support of laptop computers for patrol vehicles for at least the past three years.

Q7) If a Bidder is a certified SLEB with Alameda County, is the vendor still required to subcontract the required 20% to another certified SLEB? A) No, a Bidder who is a certified SLEB is not required to sub-contract. The SLEB sub-contracting requirement only applies to non-certified entities.
