To Parents & Guardians
Princess Pea Catering has been in business for over seven years. As our company has expanded we have found a growing need for healthier meals amongst the children we serve. Princess Pea specializes in healthy home made meals that make parents happy, and children’s tummies full. Princess Pea also specializes in allergy/ religious and lifestyle diets. Our kitchen is designed to eliminate the chance of cross contamination, through separate pots/utensils/counters/stoves…etc
Princess Pea believes in the quality and health of children’s food, using only the best locally grown produce and the finest of all natural meats. We provide fresh food prepared daily focusing on natural food, interesting, divers menus for a well balanced diet; focusing primarily on the health and wellbeing and needs of the children.
Princess Pea uses as much local produce and meat as possible. This helps support local farmers, helps save the environment by using less import and export. Moreover, by investing in local farmers we all help in expanding the need of the market, and eventually bring prices down.
Princess Pea incorporates organic ingredients and produce that is available seasonally. We understand that young growing bodies need nutritious meals without the side effects and fear of environmental chemicals and toxins. We believe it is important for children to grow with their health and wellness being the focus. Promoting a fresh clean start for body and mind development.
Princess Pea has a very strong regime when it comes to the care of delivering the food. Our drivers do wear gloves. Although there are no guidelines set out for delivery drivers to wear gloves; our drivers do. They wear them for a number of reasons: * the pans are very hot and can cause very bad burning. When removing the hot, double sealed food trays from the bags gloves are a necessity to abstain from burns. *gloves are also worn to prevent cross contamination. As drivers they touch many thing...steering wheel, doors...etc, the gloves are put on to prevent any contaminants from being placed near the food. The drivers also use hand sanitizer before placing their gloves on, to help prevent germs. These gloves are changes daily...as they are disposable. The cleanliness/ maintenance of our driver’s vehicles are critical to their job. Drivers clean their car at the end of every shift and ensure it is ready for the next day. The day of delivery, before the hot food bags and snack bins are placed in the vehicle our logistics manager inspects the car to ensure there is no dirt, debris, toxic chemicals ( windshield washer...etc), personal belongings, other food substances...etc. The maintenance of the car is checked every day by the logistics manager. With gas, oil, and light check....etc. Drivers must bring a copy of their car maintenance every three months to ensure the vehicle is safe and maintained to help prevent any breakdowns or dangers. Princess Pea Catering has been passed by the board of health, and we also have our HACCP. This means that we have not only been passed by the board of health, but we have been observed by them in our overall handling and processing of food.
Princess Pea believes in an old fashioned policy, where the customer comes first. We ask for constant feed back and ideas from parents, teachers and most importantly, the children.
