HISTORY, BEAUTY AND ELEGANCE COME TOGETHER AT THE FEBRUARY 2010 MORRISTOWN ARMORY ANTIQUES SHOW

Morristown, NJ — The city of Morristown and its rich history is the perfect setting for the finest of antiques shows. On Saturday and Sunday, February 27 th and 28 th , the Morristown Armory will be the site of just that – the world-class Morristown Armory Antiques Show produced by JMK Shows. Known for its wealth of the finest antiques dealers, the February event will thrill lovers of beauty and history. Just over 100 hand- selected exhibitors will feature the finest in American and European furnishings, art, jewelry and decorative works.

A sneak peek into the best of the best that will be there includes A Bird in Hand, specialists in early American painted furniture and Grenfell mats. Ron Bassin, owner of Bird in Hand, is particularly excited to be presenting a watercolor by Henry Krug of the historic Morristown home of John Sayre, built in 1749. He will also be featuring very rare New Jersey stoneware including pieces produced by Revolutionary War Captain James Morgan who began potting in 1740.

If the finest “bling” is your passion, Brad Reh will satisfy your cravings signed pieces by the major jewelry houses including Cartier, Van Cleef and Arpels and Tiffany. One highlight at the show will be a white gold Cartier necklace dripping in 15 carats of diamonds. Taking a step into nature, Terra Mare Antiques of Sharon, CT, specializes in ceramics and decorative pieces which all carry a nature theme. European, American and Asian and a special collection of Amphora (Photo 1) will be her highlighted pieces.

If American history is your interest, you won’t want to miss American Memories from Wyncott, PA. From very affordable to investment quality pieces, Robert and Patsy Hassert feature 19th century U.S. souvenirs and commemoratives including books, textiles, glass, copper engravings and some particularly important early 19th century silk ribbons.

If the richness and look of a fine English manor suits you, then The Country Squire of Milton, MA and their extensive collection of 18th and 19th century furniture and period accessories will not disappoint. At the show, take a moment to look at the massive circa 1845 Chesterfield sofa which measure 104” wide — the perfect piece for a fine personal library.

Perry Joyce Antiques of Michigan will present an extensive selection of 19th century English and European needlework including exceptional Georgian silk work and Victorian wool work.

SAJE Americana will offer the very finest in 18th and early 19th century Federal Period furnishings. (PHOTOS 2 & 3) A Sheraton 4 drawer chest with original brasses and a fine inlaid card table, Salem, 1810 are just two examples of the quality of antiques they offer.

Rounding out this exciting two-day event will be the opportunity to have your treasures appraised at the Certified Appraisal Clinic. The show will also offer expert glass, porcelain and pottery restoration and repair services. And, to add the perfect ambiance for the event, on Saturday, classical violinist Daisy Jopling will perform. For two exciting days, the Morristown Armory Antiques Show will be the destination for the finest in antique furnishings, accessories and art. The Show will be held at the Morristown Armory located at 430 Western Avenue in Morristown, NJ. Hours are 10am to 6pm on Saturday, February 27th and 11am to 5pm on Sunday, February 28th .
