Colonel Christopher J. Wagner Director ATTENTION Procedural and Fee Changes to Request a NH/FBI Criminal History Record

To standardize requests for a NH and FBI Criminal History Record Information (CHRI), beginning May 1, 2017 the following procedures will be in effect:

 All applicants for employment or professional licensing will initiate the criminal background process through their hiring/licensing state agency;

o At their state agency, applicants will complete a NH CHRI request form, render the fee of $47.00 ($20.75 if volunteer), payable to NH State Police – Criminal Records, and receive either a fingerprint card or instructions on where to be fingerprinted by a livescan;

o The applicant will make arrangements to be fingerprinted, and return either the inked fingerprint card, or the livescan form received from the livescan operator, to their state agency;

 The state agency will submit, as one package, the NH CHRI form, the fee payment, and either the inked fingerprint card or livescan form to the State Police Criminal Records Unit.

 The Criminal Records Unit will process both the NH and FBI CHRI and return the results to the applicant’s state agency. FEES Also effective May 1, 2017 all fees for a NH/FBI CHRI will be $47.00 whether inked or livescanned. The fee for volunteers will be $20.75. Any fees charged by the local departments and correctional facilities for fingerprinting services will be in addition to the $47.00.
