VOMMITTING AND DIORRHEA BUG

We don't mean to alarm anybody but Due to the amount of illness going through the school and the fact that we don't seem to be able to get on top of it with our disinfecting etc. It was pointed out to us that maybe we have an outbreak of Norovirus which is currently going around another school in our district. Please read the information below about Norovirus it does seem likely it maybe what we have but you will need to see the Doctor for a diagnosis.

Norovirus (vomiting and diarrhoea bugs)

Norovirus is highly infectious and spreads easily from person to person. Both faeces (‘poos’) and vomit are infectious, and the virus can survive on contaminated surfaces even after cleaning with some disinfectants.

People with norovirus are infectious for at least 3 days after the symptoms stop and on some occasions for up to 2 weeks.

How is it spread?

 Norovirus can be spread in many ways:

 consuming contaminated food or drinks  touching contaminated surfaces or objects and then putting your fingers in your mouth  having direct contact with an infected person (eg, by sharing food or eating from the same plate or cutlery)  through the air (when vomiting sends tiny particles into the air).

If you or a family member has been exposed to norovirus, you will most likely get sick within 1– 2 days. The symptoms usually last for 2 days.

Nausea Vomiting and diarrhoea Stomach cramps

Headache Low-grade fever Chills

Muscle aches

We have written poems about our Winter weather experiences. ENJOY!

I like puddles because you can jump in the puddles and the Thunder and Lightning puddles make a big splash Thunder is like a howling wolf Thunder goes crash! On a old fickly By Eli house and down, down it went Thunder wriggles down, down, down, like a wormCold moving nose, shrinking, numb Thunder and Lightning Thunder sounds like a very angry Thunder and lightning sprints across the sky teacher!Toes freezing Lightning is like a little spark of a light bulb Thunder went ka boom! On the broken little Hands like icelocks By Honor house Lightning looks like a z in the sky Feet frozen like icicles Thunder and lightning boom, boom, boom Heart pumping like a beast! By Carrie Outside I feel as cold as ice cream
