THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ELEN LUYDDOG (G Schlechter), which was fractious in the stalls, jumped awkwardly losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. Trainer A E Sands will be advised to have this filly reschooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. b) YALLA HABIBTI (*G Goomany) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: (CvA) a) Approaching the 800m JULIP (M J Byleveld) shifted outwards off the heels of CHESNUT GIRL (R Fourie), which shifted in when not quite clear. Jockey R Fourie (CHESTNUT GIRL) appeared before the Board regarding this incident and was advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear before shifting ground in future. b) At the 700m PERPETUA (C Puller) was momentarily unbalanced when it rolled in and its heels were clipped by CHESTNUT GIRL (R Fourie). c) ORATRIX (K Neisius) raced wide on the bend and into the straight. In view of the performance from ORATRIX (K Neisius), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. d) STRAWBERRY PINK (G van Niekerk) raced wide into the straight. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DINESEN (K Neisius) jumped inwards and bumped TAKE A RISK (R Fourie), which was slow into stride, which resulted in PHILADELPHIA (G Wright), which was slow into stride, and JET REVEZ (D Lee) being tightened. b) BYE BYE BLACK BIRD (J P v d Merwe) was slow losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. c) TAKE A RISK (R Fourie) was stubborn and reluctant to load, and had to be loaded without the rider. Trainer A D Steyn will be advised that this filly’s starting stall certificate has been withdrawn in terms of Rule 61.6.10.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: (TN) a) Trainer P D Reeves was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1, in that he failed to have the registered colours of the Owners available for SHIREEN. Trainer P D Reeves signed an admission of guilt and was fined R200.00. b) In view of the performances from CONSTANTIA MIST (F Anthony) (11.00 lengths) and BYE BYE BLACK BIRD (J P v d Merwe) (16.00 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies on their return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. c) CONSTANTIA MIST (F Anthony) failed to negotiate the first bend. d) The saddle on WILD RAVEN (C du Plooy) slipped back slightly in running. e) Apprentice D Neethling (TEQUILA FIZZ) was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read with Guideline C, Appendix L, in that he used his crop in an unnecessary manner by hitting the filly more than three times on consecutive strides in the closing stages. Apprentice D Neethling signed an admission of guilt and was fined R250.00. f) DINESEN (K Neisius), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Kannemeyer was advised. Trainer Steyn signed an admission of guilt and was fined R200.00. c) In view of the performance from VALKYRIE (J P v d Merwe) (99.99 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly on her return to the unsaddling enclosure and submit a report. d) Approaching the 1200m the saddle on NO WHITE FLAG (O Noach), which over raced, slipped forward badly which placed Jockey O Noach at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race and he did not persevere with his riding in the home straight. e) THE QUEEN VIC (C Puller) was hanging out from the 250m. f) DOUBLE OR QUITS (*X Carstens) shifted in sharply away from the crop at the 300m. g) Jockey A Domeyer (JET TURBINE) was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.10, in that he made a celebratory gesture before crossing the finish line on JET TURBINE. Jockey A Domeyer signed an admission of guilt and was fined R500.00. h) Apprentice X Carstens (DOUBLE OR QUITS) was charged with contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read with Guideline G, Appendix L, in that he misused his crop by hitting DOUBLE OR QUITS when she was out of contention for a place. Apprentice X Carstens signed an admission of guilt and was fined R250.00. i) JET TURBINE (A Domeyer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. The passports of all the runners that raced at today’s race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.

All the riders that participated at today’s race meeting were required to submit their Medical Record Books to the Clerk of Scales in accordance with Rule 25.3.1.
