Migrant Classification Migrant – any individual who is not a national of the State in which he or she is present
Naturalized citizen- a migrant who has assumed the citizenship of their host country
Newly arrived migrant- any individual who is not a national of the State in which he or she is present and has been in the State for less than 1 year.
Person with foreign background- politically correct term used in Sweden to refer inhabitants born abroad (Sweden article)
Migration Types: Labor (high skilled, low skilled, permanent and temporary) Irregular or Undocumented migrant- irregular migrants or immigrants are people who have arrived in the state of employment or residence without authorization, who are employed there without permission, or who entered with permission and have remained after the expiration of their visas. People who do not comply with national regulations of entry, stay or employment.
Long-term International Migrant- a person who moves to a country other than that of his or her usual residence for a period of at least a year (12 months), so that the country of destination effectively becomes his or her new country of usual residence? From the perspective of the country of departure the person will be a long-term emigrant and from that of the country of arrival the person will be a long-term immigrant.
Regular Migrant- a migrant who has permission to live and work in the State in which he or she is present
Short-term International Migrant- a person who moves to a country other than that of his or her usual residence for a period of at least 3 months but less than a year (12 months), except in cases where the movement to that country is for purposes of recreation, holiday, visits to friends and relatives, business, medical treatment or religious pilgrimage.
Migration Type: Refugees and Asylum Asylum Seeker- a person who says he or she is a refugee, but whose claim has not yet been definitively evaluated; stateless persons, either as refugees or persons who otherwise need international protection
Refugee- persons who have fled their country because their lives, safety or freedom have been threatened by generalized violence, foreign aggression, internal conflicts, massive violation of human rights or other circumstances which have seriously disturbed public order.”

Child of Migrant- person born in a State by parents who fit the classification for migrant
