Workgroup #130 Communicating Features and Benefits of Confirm Service Final Report and Recommendations
One of the most consistent areas of concern for current Confirm subscribers, and a potential deterrent for prospective subscribers is a communication gap between the Postal Service and the Subscriber base. The workgroup strongly recommends the formation of a Confirm User Group, whose goals would include implementation of some of WG 130s recommendations, as well as recommendations from future Confirm users. The group would be able to help facilitate two-way communications. The group should be set up similarly to the PostalOne! User Group, with a USPS and Industry Co-Chair. Meetings should be called on an as-needed basis, like the P1 User Group does now.
Items identified by WG 130 that could be monitored, facilitated, and/or put into place by the joint efforts of a Confirm User Group include:
Advisory work on outdated Pub 197 and other Confirm supporting documentation Advisory work on updating the Mail Tracking and Reporting website Advisory work on updated/new Confirm marketing materials Further investigation and collaboration regarding adding or utilizing current Operations Codes to provide other marketable and useful Confirm information Advisory work on streamlining and enhancing Help Desk operations, with an eye towards decreasing the number of calls in to the Help Desk. Provide a pilot testing base for EMD replacement initiative
USPS Recommendations Scheduled periodic review and updating of the Confirm Reference Data Tables. We have been told that these tables are all up to date, but many of them have not been updated in years. BSN training on Confirm Communication enhancements: o DMM Advisory o Mail Tracking and Reporting Page, opt-in subscriptions, RSS feed o Add BSN Network to communications Changes to the registration for Origin Confirm BRM using the Intelligent Mail barcode, in order to align with other IMb set ups.
