Following Is Information for Those Players Selected to a Pool Training Holdover Camp

REGION II GIRLS ODP HOLDOVER POOL TRAINING CAMP

At the conclusion of each Region II age group (95, 94, 93) camps or tournaments, 30-36 players will be selected to remain and participate in the age group Pool Training Camps. The two main purposes for the pool training camp are to provide higher level training for all pool participants, and to aid in the selection of players to be invited into interregional and international events.

The player pool list will be announced immediately following the final camp activity at the closing ceremony, and will also be posted at www.region2.com. The evening prior to the final camp day, state team coaches must inform the regional age group administrator of any players who may not be able to stay for the holdover camp if selected. Parents will be notified of selection to the pool training camp by their own child or the state team coach. The pool camp fee is $250. The Region will collect these fees with the assistance of the State Associations.

Following is information for those players selected to a pool training holdover camp.

Staff, Schedule, Housing and Meals The holdover players will be under the guidance of the regional age group head coach and assistants, and will be supervised by the age group team administrator. This staff will be responsible for training, development and supervision during the pool training camp. The schedules of these holdover camps will be posted on the Region II website at www.region2.com. Housing assignment and meals will be at the University Plaza in DeKalb, IL.

Transportation It is the responsibility of each family to make arrangements for transporting their player home at the end of holdover camp. Camp concludes around noon on the last day of that age group camp. Please refer to the Region II website (www.region2.com ), ODP/calendar for a schedule of holdover camp dates. If there is an overlapping regular camp that is concluding the same day and time as holdover camp, players may possibly ride the state bus home. Parents may need to contact the state administrator and/or state office to make such arrangements. If you would like your player to fly home, below is information regarding shuttle service to Chicago O’Hare airport. Players must have the ability to pay for the shuttle as well as an airline ticket. Please make these arrangements between yourself and your state administrator. The Region does not provide assistance to the airport.
