Position Title: Corporate Human Resources Generalist

Date: January 2017 Department: Corporate Human Resources Reports To: Corporate HR Supervisor

SCOPE OF THE POSITION

Perform Human Resources related duties at the professional level and carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, affirmative action, benefits and compensation programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Review and evaluate current corporate employment-related programs for opportunities of automation and improvement; implementation and ongoing monitoring to ensure compliance with all state and federal laws.  Perform staffing and recruiting activities for corporate positions that ensure the attraction and retention of quality employees. Maintain and/or improve the process to track recruiting matrices.  Develop strategic alliances with local colleges, universities, and technical schools to aid in recruiting and/or the development of corporate internship programs.  Coordinate onboarding for new corporate hires and termination processing for exiting employees.  Provide assistance with creating and communicating corporate policies, procedures, benefits and job descriptions.  Function as system administrator for Corporate’s Time off System.  Plan, schedule, coordinate and implement department and company-sponsored events including, but not limited to, the Corporate Service Award Program, and Quarterly Corporate Employee Meetings.  Develop the Corporate annual EEO and Affirmative Action Plans in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Monitor and evaluate plans and develop recommendations for achieving improvement.  Maintain positive employee relations including the organization and communication of employee activities and HR-related programs including the Holiday Giving Tree, annual Flu Shot Program, and various onsite wellness and/or employee-related events.  Provide employee relations counsel and advice.  Assist with managing the annual performance management and salary administration programs for corporate non-officers.  Coordinate employee FMLA and Short Term Disability leaves with third party vendor.  Assist with managing the Fit for Life wellness program and Wellness Committee.  Responsible for Fidelity 401(k) processing including employee contribution data entry, reconciliation, and wire transfers.  Establish and maintains confidential files and records including employee data entry in the Enterprise HRIS, creating and generating reports as required.  Assist with pension plan and QDRO administration.  Update and maintain Outlook contact data and corporate telephone listing.  Assist with other HR Department projects as assigned and benefit open enrollment initiatives.

REQUIRED SKILLS  Strong interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills are essential.  The ability to research and analyze various different type of data information is required.  The ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law is necessary.  Proficiency in or knowledge of computer software applications including Access, Microsoft Office and PowerPoint required.  Ability to organize and prioritize work is essential.  Working knowledge of HRIS software, ADP Enterprise preferred.

EDUCATION/PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field is required.  Experience in a Human Resources position is required.  Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
