ERIN HUNT MOORE FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL, VERDANT PR & MARKETING

Erin Hunt Moore is a seasoned public relations and marketing professional with nearly 20 years of experience drawn from both in-house strategic corporate communications leadership and the creative, collaborative environment of public relations agencies. An expert in building strong consumer brands, Erin is a veteran of the food and beverage world, but her experience spans many industries, including travel and hospitality; health and wellness; green and eco-friendly consumer lifestyle; technology; beauty; education, and not-for-profit arenas.

In 2005, after years of leading PR strategy and campaigns for top-tier food and beverage brands in New York City, Erin returned to her West Coast roots to pursue a dream: to roll up her sleeves and make wine. Settling in Sonoma County for a harvest season, she embarked upon a winemaking sabbatical with Michel- Schlumberger Wine Estates. Inspired by her harvest “boot camp,” Erin launched Erin Hunt Communications, a PR group dedicated to launching and building brands and services connected to the food, beverage and consumer lifestyle arenas. Her clients have included nationally and internationally-recognized companies such as The Mina Group (Chef Michael Mina); Pernod Ricard USA; WJ Deutsch & Sons Premium Wines; Georges Duboeuf; the Region of Brunello di Montalcino; DGB Wines (South Africa); the Mendocino Wine Commission; Campovida (formerly the Fetzer Valley Oaks Food & Wine Center); CUESA (the Center for Urban Education on Sustainable Agriculture) and Slow Food. Prior to moving to California, Erin managed the Food and Beverage Group for New York-based Magnet Communications (Euro RSCG Magnet). As the group leader, Erin created and led innovative, lifestyle- focused PR strategies for such top-tier brands as LEVELVodka (Absolut), Heineken, Premium Ports and Wines, Baron Philip de Rothschild wines, Kobrand, Spring Mountain Vineyard, Chef Marcus Samuelsson (Aquavit and Riingo) and French’s Foods. Also while in New York, Erin directed national public relations and events for San Pellegrino and Perrier brands through Salt Communications. Before her years in New York, Erin worked in Boston and Hamburg, Germany, leading accounts for Reebok, Liberty Mutual Bank, Fleet Boston Financial, YWCA Boston, the City of Boston and the Democratic National Convention; as well as Premiere TV, Deutsche Grammophon and Gruener & Jahr Publishing in Germany. Through her current venture, Verdant PR & Marketing, founded in 2012, Erin focuses her work on a range of artisanal food, beverage, hospitality and lifestyle clients, with a special interest in companies and brands who value sustainability and eco-efficiency. Clients have included Spirit Works Distillery, Jardesca California Aperitiva, Libations Unlimited Cocktail Catering, Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, Campo de Encanto Pisco, Campovida, Smitten Ice Cream, EPPA Organic Sangria, the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance, St. Francis Winery and Vineyards, among others. As well, Erin has been tapped by branding, creative and public relations agencies across the US as an industry expert and consulting partner, including Noise 13 Branding & Design, HypeHouse Strategic Branding, Landis Communication, Cinch PR, Ellipses PR, M Young Communications and The Connected Table and Cordial RX.

Erin earned a BA in international relations and German at Portland State University and completed both undergraduate and graduate work at the universities of Heidelberg and Hamburg, Germany. Her multilingual background and experience in cross-cultural communications and international marketing have opened doors with international companies and organizations in both the U.S. and Germany. Erin’s commitment to supporting food and sustainability issues, as well as anti- hunger, health and wellness initiatives have led her to leadership roles and participation with such organizations as Slow Food USA, Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation, Chefs Collaborative, the American Heart Association and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center NYC.

An avid epicurean and traveler, Erin loves to explore the world through different cuisines and wines. She also loves to hike, sail, cycle and uncover new wine country gems - taking advantage of the beauty of Northern California. She divides her time with her family between Sonoma wine country and San Francisco.
