Job Title: Event Fundraiser ; Internship (8 -12 weeks) Location: London

Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Foundation is a national children’s charity, passionate about improving the quality of life of sick children and their families in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK. Job Role

Our internship scheme offers a fantastic opportunity to get involved with 2 national charities with fantastic brand identity.

This internship is offered to support the launch of a new fundraising event ‘A Grand Day Out’, a national Dog Walking event raising funds to help sick children in the UK and to make a difference to dogs. This is a very exciting opportunity. The successful applicant will be involved in launching and developing this new fundraising project to take place in April 2011 in 3 venues across the South of England . You will have the opportunity to work directly alongside our experienced fundraising tea gaining a valuable overview of the charity sector and event fundraising and management as you learn. As an intern you will gain unrivalled fundraising, marketing, media and: PR experience. This internship will involve

 Volunteer management  Event co-ordination and logistics  Social media marketing  Communications  Event marketing support

Person Specification

We are looking for an excellent organiser with strong oral and written communication skills who has the ability to build rapport with a wide variety of people. You will be especially good at interacting and networking.

You will be a self-starter able to demonstrate flair and initiative.

You will have a passion for our cause and the event.

You will be able to work independently and as part of a small team and you will have the self- discipline to prioritise your work. You will be organised and have proficient IT and admin skills.

You are likely to have good research skills and familiarity with the web and social media

Guidance Notes

The Post is available from February 2011 for 8-12 weeks and there is no application form.

Applicants are required to submit a CV and covering letter indicating suitability for the role and detailing relevant skills and experience.

Interviews will be held by individual arrangement. Interviews consist of a panel interview and possibly a work-related presentation.

Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday although at times you may be required to work outside of these hours to attend and co-ordinate the events.
