RABBIT PROOF FENCE ASSIGNMENT CHOICES

Choice 1: Students will write a 12 line minimum poem with illustration (of your own work) and a one sentence reflection (according to language arts requirements.) This poem should reflect the thoughts and feelings of the Aborigines who were impacted by British rule.

Choices 2: Students will create a story board showing the plot sequence and themes of the video. The storyboard will be divided into 8-10 frames with an illustration and 1-2 sentence summaries per frame.

Choice 3: Students will write a 2-3 page typed paper (12 font, double spaced, 1 inch margins) comparing and contrasting the experience of Native Americans and/or African-Americans to that of Aboriginal Australians. The paper should have an introduction, conclusion and well-formed body paragraphs. Students should use specific examples as an elaboration technique.

Choice 4: Students should create a 3-dimensional representation of the situation of the Aborigines as portrayed in this movie. The representation should show thought and reflection and should include a ½-1 page explanation (12 font, double spaced, 1 inch margins) of the object and how it represents the Aboriginal situation.
