These suggestions e. however, would run counter to the survey intention of eliciting unqualified top-of-mind associations.

 Perhaps the main requirement of the survey is that the questions do attract responses as opposed to no replies or don't knows. All four questions did so, with a relatively low level of don't knows. A proportion of the answers are relatively sparse in their articulation. Some further effort could be made by interviewers in the full survey to encourage, without directing, respondents to "open up" and qualify their answers further. NRB addressed this in the briefing of interviewers for the full survey.

The survey is a scientifically prepared service, Notable difference, at the 95% level of based on a random probability sample. The confidence, for different sample sizes are: maximum likely error limits occur when the sample is split 50/50 on an issue, but often the Midpoint is Midpoint is split is less, and an 80/20 split is shown below, 50% 80% or 20% as a comparison. Margin of error, at the 95% n=1,000 ±4.4% ±3.5% level of confidence, for different sample sizes n=900 ±4.6% ±3.7% are: n=500 ±6.2% ±5.0% n=400 ±6.9% ±5.5% 50/50 80/20 n=300 ±8.0% ±6.4% n=1,000 ±3.1% ±2.5% n=200 ±9.8% ±7.8% n=900 ±3.3% ±2.6% n=500 ±4.4% ±3.5% The notable difference figures above refer to the n=400 ±4.9% ±3.9% boundary, above and below a result, whereby n=300 ±5.7% ±4.5% one may conclude that the difference is notable, n=200 ±6.9% ±5.5% given a 95% level of confidence. Thus the notable difference, for the same question, The margin of error figures above refer to the between two separate surveys of 1,000 accuracy of a result in a survey, given a 95% respondents, is plus or minus 4.4%, given a 95% level of confidence. level of confidence, where the midpoint of the two results is 50%. A 95% level of confidence implies that if 100 samples were taken, we would expect the margin of error to contain the true value in all but five samples. The results in 95 of these samples are most likely to fall close to that obtained in the original survey, but may, with decreasing likelihood, vary by up to plus or minus 3.1%, for a sample of 1,000 in this survey. r.
