All issues have come out on schedule even though Tony has had other 3 Ladies Captain pressures on his time. The good news is that he says it is the fastest car he has ever driven! 7 Green News / Rule A We are very pleased to welcome, as Tony’s replacement, Andy 8 100 Club / Social Thomsen who has kindly volunteered to compile ‘Fore Info’ starting with this issue. Andy has some great ideas for making 9 Results the newsletter web-based and more easily read by the increasing proportion of members who use smartphones and tablets and by those who are interested in quick access to individual sections. Some Members may be interested to learn that Winchester City Council is seeking consultation responses from the public by 4th September on a potential policy plan which includes allocating Travellers’ Rest, Appledown Lane, Bishop’s Sutton as such a site. Ladie’s Section 3 Jean Coveyduck Ladies’ Captain August has been a much quieter month. The only major event has been the Senior Ladies’ Championship with an excellent sign-up of 30 ladies. Sadly 4 retired hurt during the first round but it was good to see it so well supported. Congratulations to Elizabeth Hesse for 2 very solid rounds and finishing as our Senior Ladies’ Champion with a combined first and second round of nett 149, to Lyn Travers in second place with nett 151, and Ruth Howdle also with 151 but in third position based on the second round. It was good to see our most recently joined member, Jos Kerr, participating and doing so well in this event. Welcome to our section Jos and we look forward to having you with us.
