He is a member of Grace Methodist Church’s 20 Troop 42 in Union; and 21 22 Whereas, this is a superb accomplishment, because some statistics 23 indicate only three out of every two hundred young men achieve 24 this goal; and 25 26 Whereas, Benjamin’s Eagle Project was the building of a walking 27 and nature trail for Grace Church and the citizens of Union 28 County; and 29 30 Whereas, in order for this project to be successful, Benjamin 31 initially had to raise the funds for the trail, obtain all the necessary 32 easements, and direct construction of the trail by the other Scouts 33 of Troop 42; and 34 35 Whereas, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis M. Dunbar are the proud parents of 36 Benjamin Dunbar; and 37 38 Whereas, Benjamin is a Sophomore at Union High School and is 39 active in the National Art Honor Society and a letterman in both 40 academics and soccer; and 41

1 [4481] 1 1 Whereas, Benjamin is an outstanding individual in every way -- 2 eager to learn and willing to accept challenges and refuses to let 3 adversity deter his ambitions; and 4 5 Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this 6 resolution, are pleased to salute this fine young man and look 7 forward to hearing of his other accomplishments in the years to 8 come. Now, therefore, 9 10 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate 11 concurring: 12 13 That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South 14 Carolina express their congratulations to Benjamin Curtis Dunbar, 15 of Union, South Carolina, upon attaining the Eagle Scout Award, 16 the highest and most distinguished honor a Boy Scout may receive. 17 18 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 19 Benjamin Curtis Dunbar. 20 ----XX----
