2016 Seasonal Employment Opportunities:  Saddleback Mountain (near Rangeley)  Bigelow Mountain (near Stratton)  Gulf Hagas (30 miles NW of Brownville Jct.)

Job Description: • Outreach, Education, & Communication for users of the Appalachian Trail in Maine • Meet, greet, register and provide information • Demonstrate and provide practical guidance on trail & backcountry ethics • Interpret & help protect sensitive natural settings & habitats • Work with organized hiking groups – LTN workshops, etc. • Public campsite maintenance • Ridge running – occasional multi-day, overnight hiking • Community outreach

Requirements: • Experience and demonstrated skills in communications, teaching, public outreach, or customer service • Significant long distance hiking experience • Leave No Trace knowledge, skills, and ethics • Good physical condition – able to hike with a 40 lb. backpack • Capacity for primitive, solitary, outdoor living & working conditions • On-trail residence during workweeks (established & remote tenting) • Practical arrangements for transportation and local days-off housing

Schedule:  Full time, seasonal (May through October)  Flexible workweek (40 hr. - 5/2 or 10/4) prioritized for weekend coverage Pay: $10-$13.25/hour
