drupa 2016: Habasit presents conveyor belts for the printing and paper industry

The world's leading trade fair drupa is the meeting point for all market players in the printing and paper industry. Conveying and power transmission solutions play an important role here. The diverse production processes in these sectors require a wide range of different belts. Habasit, the world's leading belt manufacturer, presents its extensive product range at drupa from 31 May to 10 June 2016 in hall 14 on stand A47.

Reinach/Switzerland, June 2016 – The printing and paper industry is a sector that is undergoing profound changes. There is scarcely any other industry in which structural changes and cost pressures have left such a mark. The quality demands have steadily increased at the same time. The production processes on plants and machines are therefore constantly being tested. Habasit offers effective and cost- reducing conveying and power transmission solutions for this industry in the material flow and the handling of paper that the company presents at drupa 2016 in hall 14 on stand A47. The world's leading belt manufacturer will show a variety of products for the very different conveying tasks in the printing and paper industry, which can be used to perform every process step with the correct timing, including the conveying, processing, folding, feeding and power transmission. The product range includes machine tapes, folder-gluer belts, power transmission belts, seamless belts, feeder belts, round belts, conveyor and process belts, non-woven belts, curved belts, modular belts, slat belt and conveyor chains as well as timing belts. Reliable and low maintenance The Hamid machine tapes from Habasit are regarded as an all-rounder for printing and finishing processes with a folding machine. The MVM-5E tape type is one of the innovations shown at drupa. Its design allows it to be joined quickly by fusing the ends together without the use of adhesives. This results in a reliable product with uniform flexibility over the whole length. In addition, it provides significant cost savings in terms of maintenance and reduced downtimes. The Hamid MVM-5E machine tape also has constant grip and release properties, is dimensionally stable and non-marking and is suitable for use on sliding tables. Habasit offers the MAV-5E type for less demanding tasks, which has a special TPU surface and offers an unsurpassed service life and grip consistency in this product class. Another new belt type is the HAT-15E, a conveyor belt with an elastomer coating, which is a suitable thermoplastic alternative to the proven HAT-12P belt type. Customers benefit from adhesive-free joining, enabling quick and easy assembly in the plant.

Power transmission belts Habasit new TL power transmission belts with innovative, foamed TPU covers (patent pending) are suitable for use in letter and form sorting systems, amongst other things. The polyester-based traction layers offer outstanding dimensional stability over the entire service life of the belt. The belts also provide a user-friendly adhesive-free joining system. They combine outstanding surface durability and grip consistency with reliable and consistent power transmission and a long service life. The TL power transmission belts are an attractive mid-range solution and offer the best price-performance ratio in their class.

Feeder belts with a powerful grip Feeder and intake belts for paper processing sector require non-slip belts, which also need to be resistant to wear and particle abrasion at the same time. Habasit GRABBER seamless belts are the ideal belt type for requirements such as these. GRABBER feeder belts with outstanding grip offer a variety of substrate materials and durable, customised cover materials, ensuring a reliable feeding process over the entire service life of the belt. The new C08 and A08 belt types have coatings with extremely high abrasion resistance and a long service life.
