Duke City Soccer League Feb. 17, 2010 Minutes

November meeting called to order at 7:32 at the Duke City Soccer League Office. 15 total votes, 8 needed for a quorum, 9 voters present.

Attendees :

Voting Members: Pres. – R. Espinoza, VP – C. Harmon, Coach Adm. – L. Robles, John Welch (AUFC), Greg “Woody” Woodhouse (RVFC), Chris Cartlidge (RVFC), David Seidel (NMRFC), Michelle Barba (NMRFC), Ricardo Beraun (Classic);

Approval of Minutes: Review of minutes from Nov, motion by Dave to accept seconded by John. Motion passed.

Introductions/Guests/Special Reports

President  Transfer window was discussed. Motion to change the transfer window to begin 12/15 to close on 1/31, motion by Ron, seconded by David, motion passed  Question was posed on where we should allow U-10 and below to allow transfers outside of the transfer window. Feeling of the board was no.  Announced that starting today club registers need to sign off on transfers before Ron will approve them.

NMYSA /District Commissioner –  Caution Children @ Play – presentation was made. It was requested that this power point presentation be forward to all Board members and a Code of Conduct be included in the Spring Newsletter.  We are now able to registrar 3 year olds

Reports Management: Bill Nordin Schedule  Schedule is being worked on looks like 315 teams this spring Referees  Only one team did not complete their 4 minimum games to be referee. It was agree that that coach cannot coach in the first 4 games of the season and that a Clash Director of Coaching will serve as their coach. He may return after the 4th game as long as his team referee has completed the four missing games from the fall and the four required games from the spring.  Working on a new mentoring program State Farm Complex  Went over the cost to turn the complex lights on. For one field the cost to turn on the lights is $300 cost per cycle and $6.00 per hour  Attached the F/S of the complex for review. Bill has taken on the job of producing the month review of the F/S for the complex and will be handed out at each DSL board meeting. This for this year are looking better projecting less than $20,000 short fall for the end of the year. Still looking at a short fall for next year of $80,000 o Requested that something be put up on the web to show where the money is going. ADO  DCSL has started reserving fields for the next 2 Saturdays Balloon Fiesta Park  Will be closed from 3-15 till 4-5 for Family Motor Coach Other  Reviewed wording to be used for bench personnel allow to be with the team’s starting this spring. This wording limits bench personal to 4 administrators that have current pass cards. They may be Coaches, Managers or trainers; the make-up is the responsibility of the team. Treasures Report o Balance sheet and P&L’s were handed out Tournament Updates –  Gaylord Sheppard – None  Sandia Cup – None Coaching Administrator –  Nothing NWRG  Nothing AYSO  Tournament last week had 70 teams

New Business  Presentation written and by Stan on NM ? (Formally AGSC) to become a member of DCSL.

Motion to approve the application of NM Sting to become a member of Duke City Soccer League as of 8/1/10. With the condition that they participate in the DCSL tryout schedule spring 2010. To be included in the tournament cycle beginning after spring 2013 tournaments, motion by Woody seconded by John, motion passed.

Motion that there be a moratorium on new members joining Duke City Soccer League until the by-laws be reviewed, modified and approved, motion by John seconded by Woody, motion passed.

Motion to adjourn meeting at 8:30 p.m. by David seconded by Ron, motion passed.
