40th Anniversary Celebrations

Dear guests,

I wanted to write briefly to confirm the arrangements for the 40th anniversary on Saturday 10th September. We have had a really good response to the various adverts and are looking forward to welcoming over 100 ex Ashcombe students and staff. The morning is very informal with the school opening from 10am until 2pm. The feedback from the majority of people we have spoken to is that they would like the opportunity to catch up with their peer groups and also see how the school has changed. We are particularly pleased that both Bernard Roder and Arthur Webster will both be in attendance. We will have some senior staff on hand to take people round the school although we understand that many may want to wander round freely themselves. Arrangements are very flexible and you are welcome to come at a time most convenient to you.

We will serve coffee and tea in the hall and tables will be arranged in decades depending on when you were involved with the school. We have copies of some of the more recent year books/ school photos etc. and there are still some older photos on the wall. I do know that many people visiting would love to see any mementos from their time at the school and we will happily print any photos that are sent through to us. Please forward anything to Chris Panting, Deputy Head on [email protected] if you have any pictures from the time. Please do also contact him if you have any further questions about the morning.

I am really looking forward to seeing you on the morning and I would like to stress that all are welcome.

Yours sincerely

D.J. Blow Headteacher
