COMMENTS/CHANGES:

NOAA-15: There were relatively no changes to the NOAA-15 payload health situation during the past week.

NOAA-15 IMU continues its unpredictable ways. Gyro 2 has been relatively quiet for the last week. Daily monitoring continues.

NOAA-16: There was relatively no change in the performance of the NOAA-16 payload or bus subsystems during the past week.

Adjusted the limits for NTIP2_3 one count (YH is now 197 raw and RH is now 198 raw) due to TIP drift.

NOAA-17: There was relatively no change in the performance of the NOAA-17 payload or bus subsystems during the past week.

As noted in last week’s weekly report, the SADPOS sun lost flag was not cleared after SADPOS was re-enabled. The SADPOS lost sun flag was cleared by re-enabling SADPOS as a backup after the lost sunlight timer was cleared. SADPOS was re-enabled on 12 Feb 2008. This timer was cleared after full illumination was reached. The SADPOS lost sun flag would not have remained set if a period of full illumination occurred after the solar eclipse and before the re-enabling of SADPOS as the backup SAD control system.

On 14 Feb 2008, it was noted by the CDA that no RF was received from STX-3. The output power of STX-3 was reading a RL voltage of 0.21 Watts, down from its ~2 Watts. This power drop occurred at 00:45z just before a scheduled Wallops pass. See Figure 2. An attempt was made at ~06:00z to recycle the power but it was not successful. A test of STX-4 configured for HRPT was also done at this time. The RF was present but the ground did not receive frames. This appeared to be a ground configuration problem. It was successfully tested later in the day. Additional tests throughout the day of STX-3 were all unsuccessful. A TOAR is being written.

The current plan for reconfiguration of STXs on NOAA-17 & 18 is in the following table:

NOAA-18: There were relatively no changes to the NOAA-18 health situation during the past week.

The NOAA-18 AMSU-A2 instrument continues to show unusual reading in its Digital-A telemetry. See Figures 3-5. A proposed course of action is being investigated. . ALSO SEE: http://www.oso.noaa.gov/poesstatus/ EMOSS-2

MetOp-A: There were relatively no changes to the MetOp-A NOAA instruments health situation during the past week.

IASI was recovered twice from HEATER-REFUSE mode. Recovery on Feb. 4 was completed by 19:36 UTC (7 hours data loss) and recovery on Feb. 9 was completed by 14:22 UTC (4 hours data loss). ALSO SEE: http://www.oso.noaa.gov/poesstatus/ EMOSS-2
