2016 OK HOSA FALL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE “Be the Change” “Leadership-Service-Engagement”

When: Tuesday, October 25, 2016 Where: Embassy Suites, 2501 Conference Drive, Norman, Oklahoma, 73069 Time: 9:00 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. (tentative) Online Registration: October 3-7, 2016 October 24th FLC Packet/T-Shirt Pick Up/Registration: 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. October 25th FLC Packet/T-Shirt Pick Up/Registration: 7:45 a.m.-8:45 a.m. Who Can Attend: National and OK affiliated HOSA local chapter officers (max. of 8 officers per chapter) and Advisors How Much: $25.00 per attendee (no registration changes or refunds after October 7, 2016) T-Shirts: Each registrant receives a conference t-shirt!

LEADERSHIP TRAINING Opening Session will begin at 9:00 a.m. After the Opening Session, leadership training will begin. A closing session and installation of the 2016-2017 State Officer Team will follow the leadership training. There will not be concessions at the Embassy Suites so please make sure your students eat something before coming to the conference.

STATE OFFICER ELECTION The 2016-2017 Oklahoma HOSA State Officer team will be elected and installed at this conference. The officer candidate campaign speeches will be posted to www.okhosa.org >Conference> Fall Leadership Conference by October 10, 2016. Local chapter members are encouraged to preview the campaign speeches on the OK HOSA website and caucus prior to the conference. All chapters attending FLC have the opportunity to vote for the 2016-2017 State Officer team.

PIN CONTEST We will be voting on the Oklahoma HOSA pin design at this conference. Chapters will have the opportunity to preview the top three designs on the website and caucus prior to the conference. All chapters attending FLC will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite design.

DRESS CODE Required dress for this year’s conference will be the conference t-shirt, solid colored slacks (at least ankle length) or skirt (at least knee length) and appropriate foot wear. Voted on at the 2014 HOSA Power Team meeting held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014---appropriate foot wear is defined as “Closed toe shoes made of any material (no house shoes)”. The purpose of the dress code is to uphold the image of the association and its members. No jeans, shorts, tank tops, halter-tops, mini skirts, cut-offs, or crop tops are permissible.

BE THE CHANGE for Mental Illness This year’s HOSA National Service Project is with National Alliance on Mental Illness. Oklahoma HOSA wants to “Be the Change” for mental illness by collecting change. Please bring your chapter’s counted donation to conference.
