Chapman ~Benns Church Blvd~ Cemetery Transcribed by members of the Grave Site Survey Task Force (GSSTF) Under the Auspices of Isle of Wight County Historical Society (IWCHS) Visited June 12, 2005
This cemetery is in a farm field and no tombstones are visible … it is simply a raised mound about 50 feet square and tracks from tractors crossing over the mound are clearly visible although the mound has not been plowed or cultivated.
The following information was obtained from courthouse records since it was not possible to record actual tombstone markings.
CHAPMAN CEMETERY
"LOCUST GROVE" LOCATED ON ROUTE 10 IN ISLE OF WIGHT CO., VA. ON THE ROBERT P. TAYLOR FARM. WAS THE CHAPMAN FARM AND WISHART FARM.
