Residential Library Project – (Booking form below) Reading Retreats Raymond Williams Foundation

If you are interested in reading/writing/research/discussing themes from books with others, then you may well want to benefit from our Reading Retreat Scheme.

Residential colleges, libraries, retreats, and also self-catering cottages could welcome you for a short away-break retreat. Many centres in this scheme are in stunning locations— some have won national awards for their facilities and work.

The ‘library’ collections range from a room with books on shelves, to outstanding libraries, professionally administered, housing collections of national distinction.

The scheme is open to all adults (18 plus), individuals and small groups, It is sponsored and grant-aided by the Raymond Williams Foundation(RWF),working with other registered charities on this project. £60.00 will be granted towards the accommodation cost of a two day residential stay. Should you need more financial support, up to 90% of the cost may be provided upon receipt of testimony from a tutor and financial documentation. A full post-residence evaluation would be required for this.

How to apply

The procedure is simple and organisational costs are kept absolutely minimal:- • Check with the venue for availability—(two nights stay). • Send application to the Raymond Williams Foundation (see reverse of this leaflet). You will receive a response within days – not more than two weeks • On receipt of successful application book at the Centre, paying their fee less £60.00 • The Centre will then invoice RWF (or other appropriate charity) to receive the grant.

Win-win for everybody…..

The Centres increase residential occupancy and widen participation; individuals gain a good deal - able to read, write, and research during quiet quality time, with meals/bed provided; charities supporting meet their aims, enhancing residential adult education. We are confident that those benefiting, and able to afford full market fees, will make a donation to our fund to help others gain similarly in future. Centres in the Scheme
