10 E Inclement Weather In this Rule “weather” means wet weather, lightening, excessive heat, excessive wind or dust or any other similar like weather conditions that effects play. (a) (i) HEAT For Saturday Metropolitan Pennant Premier and all other Divisions, if the actual dry bulb temperature recorded at the BV designated (refer Appendix B) BOM Official Recording Station (not the venue club itself) (℡ 1196) has reached 36 degrees Celsius at 12.30pm on the Pennant day then commencement of the match will be suspended until such time as the temperature falls back below 36 degrees Celsius (all play will be abandoned at 6:30pm as per the provisions of Rule 10E(g)). Following commencement of a game Side Managers will make further reference to the clubs BV Designated BOM Official Recording Station (℡ 1196) at 3:00pm and if the temperature recorded at 3:00pm is 36 degrees Celsius or above all Pennant matches in progress will be suspended until such time as the temperature falls back below 36 degrees Celsius (as stated above all play will be abandoned at 6:30pm as per the provisions of Rule 10E(g)), every effort must be made to complete the ends in progress prior to leaving the green for the suspension of play.

(ii) HEAT For Midweek Metropolitan Pennant Premier and all other Divisions, if the actual dry bulb temperature recorded at the BV designated (refer Appendix B) BOM Official Recording Station (℡ 1196) - (not the venue club itself) has reached 36 degrees Celsius at 10.00am on the Pennant day then commencement of the match will be suspended until such time as the temperature falls back below 36 degrees Celsius (all play will be abandoned at 4:00pm as per the provisions of Rule 10E(g)).

The BOM has a recorded message available advising of the temperature in the Melbourne Metropolitan Designated Recording Stations at specific times and is available on  1196.

Please check that there have been no updates since this publication v8 (1 August 2013) at the BV Website – For all temperature readings ring BOM on ℡ 1196 for the recorded information required and wait until your designated BOM station temperature is announced.
