July 5 First Friday to Feature Art Exhibits, Live Music, Shopping, Discounts

Dayton, June 21, 2013 – Downtown’s next free First Friday art hop will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, July 5. Art exhibits, live music, dinner and drink specials, and retail sales will be featured at a variety of downtown businesses. Details are below about what’s on tap at participating locations during the July 5 First Friday.

Art • CADC, 45 S. St. Clair St.: Browse work by more than 30 artists. CACD will host a raffle for a hand-painted piano and artwork, with all proceeds benefiting the nonprofit gallery. Light refreshments available. Call 313-9883. • Clash Consignment, 521 E. Fifth St.: Featuring light paintings created by Cincinnati artist Gregory Sitg. Call 241-9434. • The Collaboratory, 33 N. Main St.: (Open until 8 p.m.) Featuring an exhibition by artist and designer Misty Thomas- Trout that is a visual representation of her personal journey into self-awareness. Enjoy some drinks and food with the artist. Call 732-5123. • Dayton Art Institute, 456 Belmonte Park North: (Open until 8 p.m.) Showing exhibits Andy Warhol: Athletes and The Art of Sport featuring athlete portraits by Warhol and more than 100 various items focusing on the subject of sports. Patterson Blvd.: The monthly Courteous Mass Ride will meet for two rides: One leaves at 5:30 p.m. and the second at 7 p.m. The July ride will include a tour of McPherson, Grafton Hill, Five Oaks and the Santa Clara District neighborhoods. • Fifth Third Field, 220 N.
