ASSOCIATE PROGRAMME

The Associate Programme is aimed at new graduates, emerging and established artists and creatives who wish to be part of the Ocean Studios community and take advantage of the facilities without becoming a resident artist.

Newsletter Monthly newsletter with news, exhibition notices, eternal awards, residencies and opportunities

Critical Evaluation Group crits will be held in the project space. These can be single or multi-disci- plinary. Artists of all levels can participate. Spaces will be limited and available on a first come first served basis.

Talks and Events (some may incur a charge) These will include: • Talks by resident and visiting artists. • Technical demonstrations in the workshops. • Seminars and workshops given by arts professionals including funders, gallerists and agents. • Film shows and streamed events

When these talks are open to the general public associate members will have priority booking and receive a discount.

Use of Ocean Studios Facilities Associate artists will be able to use the technical workshops. Hire charges will be on a half or full day basis. Some materials will be available to purchase from Ocean Studios and will be in addition to the hire cost. Any artist wishing to use the workshops will need to have attended an induction session.

Lockers will be available to hire to store work and belongings as incomplete work cannot be left in the workshops.

Glass and ceramic kilns will be available to hire for either shared or individual fir- ings.

Associate artists will be able to hire workshops to teach classes in. The artist will be responsible for all marketing of the course, health and safety of the students and must leave the workshops clean and tidy. Those working with children or vulnerable adults will need to be DBS checked.

Associates can submit proposals to hire the 85m² project space on a daily/weekly basis for classes, idea development, exhibitions or events.

There will be a meeting room and one ‘hot desk’ studio available for short term hire.

Continued Professional Development Ocean Studios are developing an in-house CPD programme that will include one to one and group surgeries, seminars and conferences. Associates will have ac- cess to this. Numbers may be limited for some events and resident artists will be given priority. There may be a charge for some events (funding dependant)

Bursaries and Awards Ocean Studios intend to offer a number of bursaries and opportunities both inde- pendently and with partners. Associates will be eligible to apply for these.

Commercial Opportunities** Associates will be eligible to apply to sell work in the Ocean Studios shop. Selec- tion will take place every 3 months. Commission will be charged on all sales.

Ocean Studios will hold Open Studios twice a year. Associates can apply to take part in these and be featured in the catalogue.

A commercial selling exhibition will be hosted for resident artists once a year and Associates will be eligible to submit and sell work in the associates section (com- mission on sales will apply)

Ocean Studios are exploring e-commerce opportunities with partners and asso- ciates will be able apply to sell via this platform once it is established.
