ENROLLMENT LOTTERY POLICY

Acceptance for enrollment in Providence Creek Academy is an honor. The following is the policy and procedures that must be followed when an over enrollment condition exist.

1. All students have signed letters of intent to return from the parent or guardian for the upcoming year not later than the second Wednesday in January. If a signed intent to return is not received by this date, Providence Creek Academy will consider the student's seat open. Open enrollment period for a parent to submit an Standard Application begins on or after the first Monday in November and ends on or before the second Wednesday in January. 2. All preferences regarding siblings and children of persons employed on a permanent basis are met as prescribed in Delaware School Law Title 14, Chapter 5. 3. An over enrollment exists when the grade level has reached the maximum number of students permissible as defined in the School Charter and the Board of Directors. 4. All lotteries must be held no later than the last day of February of the school year preceding enrollment. 5. All eligible student applications received by the second Wednesday of January will be processed by the Data Service Center. A lottery will be conducted not later than the last day of February for open seats. 6. When the allotted number of students has been identified, all remaining students will be placed on a waiting list. A lottery will determine each student's placement on the waiting list. 7. No later than the third Friday in March - A parent who applied for the child shall notify Providence Creek Academy in writing whether the offer is accepted or rejected. If a parent fails to do so, the child’s acceptance will be withdrawn. In the event the students are removed from the original list, the next student in line will receive the placement.

Students will be selected in accordance with State and Federal laws and the published non- discrimination policy of Providence Creek Academy Charter School Inc. Providence Creek Academy Charter School Inc. does not discriminate in employment or educational programs, services or activities based on race, sex, or handicap.
